Bears’ rushing offense vs. Panthers’ rushing defense

If you’re a fan of running backs, shield your eyes: The Bears are second-to-last in the NFL with 68.8 rushing yards a game. The backfield duo of Matt Forte and Chester Taylor needs to establish a ground attack with Jay Cutler out, but that’s easier said than done.

Bears’ passing offense vs. Panthers’ passing defense
Break out those Todd Collins jerseys. The 38-year-old quarterback looked rickety last week against the Giants, and he’ll need to bring a better effort against Carolina in his first start since 2007. He’s a savvy veteran, but he lacks Cutler’s arm strength and mobility.

Panthers’ rushing offense vs. Bears’ rushing defense
The winless Panthers have plenty of warts, but not when it comes to their running game. Pro Bowl running back DeAngelo Williams (5-8, 210) has averaged 5.1 yards a carry in his career, while bruiser Jonathan Stewart (5-10, 235) has 21 touchdowns in 36 career games.

Panthers’ passing offense vs. Bears’ passing defense
Pass rusher Julius Peppers and his Bears’ teammates smell fresh meat. Panthers rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen will be making his third career start, and an ankle injury to four-time Pro Bowl selection Steve Smith will force Carolina to use unproven receivers.

Good teams find a way to overcome adversity. Are the Bears a good team? We’ll know more Sunday when the Bears (3-1) are forced to play without their franchise quarterback against the winless Panthers (0-4). Look for both teams to try to pound the ball on the ground. The Bears defense could win a low-scoring game by forcing turnovers and good field position.

Though Peppers had a real good game hinself..

Have to see once again the bear fans showed up IN FORCE at the game, we took over a parking lot and the Crowd was as loud or louder for bear big plays than was for panthers( would say td's,but panthers never did that..lol).

Really bythe 4th ,50% + of the Panther fans had left, and after Gme the walk out of the stadium and people yelling about bears and singing "bear down", really felt like "soldier field south"
