Bears 17, panthers 3.. Game preview and who ya got???
Well this has been an intersting week, and we will probably not know for Syre
until Saturday who will be starting for the bears. Cutler practiced yesterdya,
but still needs to pass an independant Dr's evaluation before beinng OK'ed- so
will do the "O" for both Cutler and collins( who lovie already said will start
if cutler doesn't). the Defense and special teams will remain unaffected by
whoever is the starter, so that remains the same. The bears are 2-2 against the
panthers, having lost their last 2 times went to Carolina. The Panthers are
stuggling mightly, being 0-4 and having lost steve smith to an ankle injury and
dwyane jarrett to stupidity and rookie Qb Clausen now the starter.
Fun Facts:
Cutler leads all NFL quarterbacks in fourth-quarter passer rating (133.4).
Johnnie Knox leads the NFL at 21.5 YPC
We will be having 300+ people at our tailgate before the game at the Moorehead and McNich streets
ON OFFESENSE
"if" cutler does play , expect to see a very healthy Dose on not only the run game, but quick 2-3 step drops to start and get everyone in a rythym, and if successful, expect the longer passes to come in the 2nd quarter. The panthers "D" is very weak in the secondary and can be exploited. A llinebacker beason is very good, but their "D" line have a couple of good run stoppers, but lack without peppers a very good pass rush. Hester should be open alot of the 9 routes and look for cutler to exploit this. If Collins is the starter, expect a much more vanilla game plan as we saw sunday, where will be more about no turnovers and The TE's to be very active again with olsen and hopefully clark activated.
ON DEFENSE
The homecoming for peppers, I really think will be his best game of 2010, and a 3+ sack day of Clausen. You know he had this date circled since came here- and while hasnt had the sacks yet- been everything we have wanted in a DE- he add's the sacks this game. Clausen can be rattled and when does, turtles quick, as always did at Norte Dame. Without smith and jarrett the passign game will be in for a loooong day and expect alot of punts. The 1-2 punch of williams/stewart has been muted for the most part this year, and with no Wr's expect the bears to load the box with 8-9 for most of the Day and contain the run- if clowney, lefell and gettis beat us, so be it- but you don't want to be beaten by the run game, let the rook Wr's and clausen. The panthers "O" is dead last in league only avg 11.5 points a game and 30th by yards , so a good day for the "D" to get their stats back .
ON SPECIAL TEAMS
Especially if Collins starts, special teams will be very important as will turn into a field position and punt fest. hester will get his chances on the Punts and really favors us in the field position battle. Robbie is as solid as they come
BEARS 17 PANTHERS 3
Forte 18 carries 85 yards, 1 TD
hester 7 catches, 110 yards 1 TD
Peppers, 6 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 FF
WHO YA GOT AND WHY????
