Fave Player: Wrecks Grossman - Comedian

I remember a recent discussion where I stated that the media, not happy just reporting events, has taken the "self-appointed" responsiblity to SHAPE events... to MAKE public sentiment move in the direction that the editor/owners want to. They use their own bias to sway public opinion so that they may more easily achieve their "progressive" goals, or any other goals for that matter. Someone even brought up that old-fart Cronkite as the "model" of how a journalist should be, little realizing that he was the first journalist who took it upon himself to make news, not report it.

And now... the NYT has refused to run an article from Maverick stating that it would "be great" if it could mirror the Obama piece that IT DID run.

So, why don't they just change their name to the NYD and get it over with?

QUOTE(From the NYT to McCain camp)
It would be terrific to have an article from Senator McCain that mirrors Senator Obama’s piece. To that end, the article would have to articulate, in concrete terms, how Senator McCain defines victory in Iraq. It would also have to lay out a clear plan for achieving victory — with troops levels, timetables and measures for compelling the Iraqis to cooperate. And it would need to describe the senator’s Afghanistan strategy, spelling out how it meshes with his Iraq plan.

Gee, McCain wants to be President and can’t articulate his Iraq/Afghanistan strategy? I am sure if he wants to pay for something, he can say whatever he likes...if he wants a free Op-ed space, he'll need to say something substantive...

It should also be noted that the NYT have published at least seven Op-Ed pieces by Senator McCain since 1996. Not to mention they endorsed him in the GOP primary…

if Bob Dole II wants space, maybe Bob Dole II should give the people something more than the Bush waterfall of conceptual catch phrases (democracy, freedom, independence, out of work from factory single--mother, I am a POW)
