34 go out looking for morels, they're popping up. My brother found about 20 yesterday and another 20 this morning.

BU my daughter and Hubby have been finding them in fair amounts for a few days. I think so far it's around 300. Still mostly grays but a few yellows coming up too now.
Yum Yum!!!!!! So far the cool nights have kept them from drying up,should be a good season :)

I know what you mean bud. Life sure is a roller coaster.
Most of the time when I'm at home there's more work to do than when I'm at work. Especially this time of the year.
But when I'm off I have a rule, I only work half the day, usually the morning, cause if I put it off till afternoon sometimes I just put it off till the next day.

300 WOW!! My brother said out of the 40 or so maybe a dozen blacks and the rest yellows. Good size too.
He said some of the blacks he found this morning are 2-3" not including the stem.

Be careful with these:

Morels contain small amounts of toxins that are usually removed by thorough cooking, and morel mushrooms should never be eaten raw.[3] It has been reported that even cooked morels can sometimes cause mild poisoning symptoms when consumed with alcohol.[4]

Mind you when they go it is usually for 3-5 hours so it isn't a short hunt lol
The sizes are about the same here. We'll see what he comes home with today. We found a good way to freeze them. Never as good as fresh but good none the less to fry up during the winter:bananadance:

Your absoloutly right Sunbiz. I have a mushroom book and never eat a lot at one time.
I dehydrate them as soon as I get them for long term storage and always cook them well before consumption.

They sure are gooood!!! :yeahthat[
