My boys start school tomorrow and it's my youngest son's first day of Kindergarten. I'm excited about it. I'm probably not going to sleep tonight.

Don't cry in front of his classmates when you drop him off, BDM! You'll embarrass him!My boys start school tomorrow and it's my youngest son's first day of Kindergarten. I'm excited about it. I'm probably not going to sleep tonight.[/b]
Wait until you get back to the car....![]()
I was able to hold the tears back. They rode the bus to school and then I met them at the school for Isaac's first day in Kindergarten. It was very enjoyable. Days like these I forget how much of a little terror he can be at times.Don't cry in front of his classmates when you drop him off, BDM! You'll embarrass him!

So how excited was he? Did he cry or was he brave? And most importantly, did he get a new backpack? I always crack up at the kindergarteners who carry backpacks because the backpacks are always bigger then the kids themselves. Too cute! And hey, here's a thought that will make you feel ancient. They just told this to us at our teacher rally this morning - this in-coming kindergarten class is going to be the class of 2020. That just blew my mind completely.I was able to hold the tears back. I was also going to say, in regards to the not crying in front of your son thing, let the tears go if the teacher is single and young. Teachers have a soft spot for parents who actually care enough about their kids to get teary eyed at dropping them off for their first day of school. I think single dads would really have an upperhand. ;)
I threw up my first day of kindergarten. I've always had a nervous stomach.
I think my mom told that story to every girl I ever brought home.
I've very proud of the fact that I was the only kid in my kindergarten class who didn't pee in his pants. I put it on my resume.
He was totally excited. He was doing the whole jumping up and down thing as the bus was coming up the road. The only time I thought I might cry was after he got on the bus and waved at me with excitement from the window. So how excited was he? Did he cry or was he brave? I'm kinda doubting Mr. Fant would have been too impressed with my tears...LOL, but he did have a student teacher that was pretty.

You never know.
Ahh, Mr. Fant. I got ya. ;) Although... you never know. *wink, wink, smile, smile* Look how things have worked out for you and TG.He was totally excited. So you skipped entirely the most important part of my questions - the backpack. Did he get one? I bet it was a Transformers one - those seem to be pretty popular again with the youngins.
He did get a new backpack. I got him one of the smaller ones because, as you mentioned, most of them looked huge. He picked out a plain one that is called a sidewalk or sidewinder or something. Anyway, it has one strap and then one that goes around your stomach.Ahh, Mr. Fant. I got ya. ;) Although... you never know. *wink, wink, smile, smile* Look how things have worked out for you and TG.

He was more excited about getting to wear his new shoes that we got last week. They are navy blue and orange (I helped pick out the colors). He was running around the store in them to see if they made him run faster. He wasn't able to wear them until today.
