Just call me "Kanye Rose"
Axl Rose's Hatred of Slash Results in $20 Million 'Guitar Hero' Lawsuit
Posted Wed Nov 24, 2010 8:25am PST by Daniel Kreps in Amplifier

Eager to become the talk of every music fans' Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, Axl Rose has just issued his most insane lawsuit yet, suing "Guitar Hero" makers Activision for $20 million for featuring Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" in "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." Axl initially signed off on "Jungle" being used in the game, but on one condition: Do not put any music by Velvet Revolver, which boasts guitarist Slash (Rose's former bandmate and mortal enemy) in the game. Well, not only did "Guitar Hero III" offer a bunch of Velvet Revolver songs, they crowned Slash the game's spokesperson, featured him on the game's cover and made him a playable avatar. Cue Axl's lawsuit.
"[Activision] began spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III but also promote the game by emphasizing and reinforcing an association between Slash and Guns N' Roses and the band's song 'Welcome to the Jungle,' " Rose's lawyer Skip Miller writes in the $20 million suit. Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine" featured in "Guitar Hero II," and "Shackler's Revenge" from Axl's long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" actually debuted as a game-ending challenge in "Rock Band 2," so Rose isn't opposed to the use of his songs in music video games. This comes down to, once again, Rose's undying hatred of Slash.

I thought Asshole Rose died a few years ago. lol

He's always been irrelevant. G&R were good, but overrated, and Axl has always been a man of very VERY little talent... as far as I'm concerned anyway.
Of course, I'm in the minority in my music tastes. I also find "little discernible talent" to be a good descriptor for the Rolling Stones, the Doors, that gay fuckwad from Nirvana who shotgunned himself over his "hard" life, the Doors, the Beatles, Bob Dylan's singing, and the Doors.

If he takes as long with the lawsuit as he did releasing Chinese Democracy he will be.

Well thankfully we have you to set the record straight on what "discernible music talent" is. Without your extremely important opinion on the matter, why a person may just have to do the unthinkable and make up their own mind on what constitutes "musical talent." Oh, the horror.

You know what would be "unthinkable"? You ever shutting the fuck up.

I think The Doors have a few decent songs, but nothing legendary. The Beatles are nothing more than the NSYNC of the 50's. Bob Dylan can't sing worth a shit, but the Stones have quite a few good songs, that would rank them above the rest.

If Axl would spend as much time and energy into making music people could give a damn about, as he does with suing people and having hissy fits, he might actually make some money outside of the court system. Ah well, no big loss. Just looking at his face makes me wanna pound it into new and interesting shapes.

Yea, I have to agree that the Stones are above the rest listed, but really.... that isn't saying much.
Of course... being a fan of the Z's, my extremely important opinion on the matter is there really isn't many others I would consider good enough to actually pay attention to anyway. No, no, no.... no need to make up your own mind, just go with my opinion and save yourself the effort. After all, the reason everyone is a member of the Chicago Bears message board is to find out the musical opinions of some solitary Packer fan living 10000+ miles away. It must be true... one of the showgirls in Vegas said so.

I would not say G&R is overrated, the produced some great music in a short time. I think Axle totally ruined that band. Their first album is the best in my opinion. I would say Nirvana was a great band the introduced a different type of music when they were around. Kurt Cobain was not my favorite but I felt he had talent yet the drugs and his butt ugly wife was probably enough reason to shoot himself.
