That is a kick ass idea.
2 things:
1.Even with those doors, at 6'2" ill still never fit into a Maza Miata.
and 2.Im curious about how they maintain structural integrity in side impact collisions (T-bone, one of the most common). They claimed to have eliminated the B Pillar, but the B Pillar is part of the steel reinforced structure that helps protect the passenger in side impact collisions. And without that pillar, or without any reinforced frame that connects the A and C pillars, im curious how they solved the issue of safety in regards to that type of collisions. Still...pretty cool none-the-less
1. Why would you want to drive a chick car?
1a. You could drop the top, and look over the windshield, but it's still a chick car.
2. They probably strengthened the door, though I don't see how it could possibly be as rigid as a B pillar.
3. It looks pretty pimp, but do you have to sit in your car when it rains? lol
I dunno...i was a teenager when the Miata first came out, and i thought it was awesome, went to the Chicago Auto Show that year, tried to sit in it, was sadly disappointed that it was a chick/midget car after all. Title of the thread reminded me of that story, thats all.Quote:
