    Our Mayor just killed himself

    Mayor Tim Davlin found dead in his home


    Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin was found dead in his home this morning, authorities have confirmed.

    Springfield Police Chief Rob Williams said police received a 911 call at 8:54 a.m. They found the mayor deceased after going to his home at 2604 Apple Creek Drive at about 9:10 a.m.

    Davlin reportedly died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, but authorities would not confirm that at a news conference this morning. Officials also wouldn’t say who made the 911 call.

    Not that it makes any difference, but is a 16 minute response time to a 911 call from the Mayor's home normal? I live in rural VA where there are more horses than people and we get better response times than that to owners of double wide trailers.

    He has some legal issue with his late cousin’s estate that he was executor for, but I really didn’t follow it much…and he wasn’t running for another term (election in April), which was big news a few weeks ago…he’s technically my mayor, but my “community” is more Rochester (just outside of Springfield)…
