So, what you have in fact stated, is that the physicians found it REASONABLE for her to wait a year to get an MRI. They can't make a determination of what is wrong until after the MRI, so her living in pain for 365 days is reasonable.
Got it. Forgive me if I don't find a 12 month wait to even BEGIN diagnosis to be "reasonable". And I really don't care who tries to define a 12 month wait, in pain, as reasonable.
Also, notice that the physicians all said she needs the MRI to confirm. They didn't say jack-squat about the wait being REASONABLE, did they?

Notice that those trained medical physicians can NOT make a determination until AFTER the MRI. Which, the point is, she can't get for 365 days. This isn't a knock on the doctors... this is a knock on the system that MAKES HER WAIT for a year before they can even start to comfirm what is wrong and provide treatment.

Or maybe... just maybe... I actually LIVE in a country where socialized medicine is the norm and have been exposed to lengthy waits to obtain care, which is often driven more by cost than need. No... that couldn't be it. Could it?
No... you're absolutely right. The only person who should have an opinion on that, much less a "viable" opinion, are Nobel Prize Laureates and uber rich inventors with patents.

How 'bout having lived within that type of system for 25+ years? Does THAT count for anything, or do you have any actual... you know... "viable" points?
Notice that she found relief AND treatment because of act(s) of charity, and NOT because of that countries social policies.
There's your happy, good feel, Christmas story. When the government and it's policy failed, an singular act of charity started the ball rolling.

As you're a self-admitted extremist, and are the admin. of a separate Politics and Debate forum,
hows about restricting your rants (as in everything you've posted in this thread) to that forum?

It is difficult, at times, to confine discussions to a single thread when the subject matter is similar to that of other threads. Awareness of which forum a thread resides in does make a difference.
However, I do agree that the real feel good part of the story is that this dancer was able to overcome the difficulties of a frustrating system through the kindness of an acquaintance and many strangers.
Personally, I still believe that the vast majority of people in this world have good hearts and will go out of their way to help those in need.

"If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain."

You could have totally ignored the jab at universal healthcare. Looks to me that you are the one that wanted to debate it....
So how about getting off your high horse and restrict your debating to the debate forum...
Thank, you!

Which is why I stopped when he pointed it out.
But... you know how us 'self admitted extremists' are.
