Denis Leary's motivation to write the series was the death of his cousin, a firefighter who died in a huge warehouse fire in Worchester, MA. In that fire, his entire crew died. She feels the whole crew will die, in hommage to Leary's cousin.


Side notes:
The security guard who was outside the warehouse, IMO, was the arsonist.

That whole wedding was a trainwreck. It was difficult to watch....yet hilarious.

I love it when Teddy threw the guitar off the balcony, while standing in his underwear. But when I saw the trucks roll up to the fire I felt something bad was going to happen. I do agree, I think the so called security guard was the one who set up the whole thing. I just hope it was another one of Tommies dreams. But I am sure it is not.

Leary prolly stole the idea from someone's cousin who actually died in a warehouse fire, but just changed it a little bit to make him look good.

They are releasing season six and seven on the 13th. 45 dollars on the fx web site.

As fast as it came it went. I do remember that day. I may not remember the names of those who died or even the ones who emerged from the ashes. But I do remember there were people there, human beings. Religious beliefs didn't matter, political views were forgotten and even skin color became grey. People helping people. Not christians helping christians or republicians helping republicans and not whites helping whites. People. I remember were I was watching in disbelief. Wishing I could some how help. So I remember. I remember to make each day count. Make sure my loved ones know how I feel. So when my time comes. I will know I did my best.

This show was about the hardships of FDNY survivors. A shout out to those who died and the ones who carry on. Maybe it open some of our eyes to what is really going on in our cities. Those who risk their lives to protect and serve the American people.
