"The dog has yet to be found" but I suppose his girlfriend still loves him.

GREELEY — A man is behind bars this week after neighbors reported to police that he barked at his dog before attacking and beating it, the Greeley Tribune reported.
The Weld District Attorney's Office has charged Kenneth Spero Loris, 39, with one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals. The dog has yet to be found.
Neighbors took pictures of the July 29 incident, in which they said they saw Loris in his backyard on all fours facing his dog and barking at him. Neighbors had varying versions of the story, but they said he slapped, punched, choked and kicked the dog, believed to be a pit bull, repeatedly.
Loris told police he "doesn't beat dogs. He doesn't even beat women," according to a police affidavit.

Gah, don't know why it reminds me, but when I was back stateside, I met a kid (age:22) who embraced his nickname of "puppy". I'd heard hyperbolic explanations on why he got it, but his was the best: apparently, for a laugh, some of the guys brought him to a strip club and he was kicked outside for barking like a dog in the men's room and at a dancer. FWIW, he's not allowed to handle military weapons...
