Yea... he was the head lemming, and a lot of his followers are absolutely extreme in their dedication to all things iApple. Here's the amount of direct support I have given him - I use different fonts and I watch a Pixar movie now and then. I own, now or in the past, ZERO iApple products. Well... not quite true.... I have quick-time on my computer.

But, more power to him. He may have been an asshole, and he may not have been very charitable, but does any of that really matter? His products created and supported tens of thousands of jobs, not just in PRC but here in the US as well, added significant revenue to our economy and contributed to technology in a "one thing leads to another" manner. His technology is used in the health, military, commerce, manufacturing and just about EVERY industry you can think of. The man may have been the ultimate example of greedy capitalists, but you would be hard pressed to find any aspect of your life that doesn't have some contribution of his involved in it somehow. He may have been the most influential person on the planet.

And he did it with private capital - without any government subsidies.

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." - Claire Wolfe

And the fact that there are so very few individuals on the planet with the skills he had, just goes to show how rare it is what he accomplished in his lifetime. One of the best quotes actually came from the president:

"Steve was among the greatest of American innovators — brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it."

Well... not quite true.... I have quick-time on my computer.
Really? Dang..im on a Mac and i dont even use Quicktime.
