Whats there to complain about? If the killers are aprehended, then charge them with manslaughter/murder, give them their due process and put em in jail. Not sure what we are supposed to be "complaining" about in this instance.

And same with cars...drunk drivers kill too many people, which is why its illegal, and those caught doing get their licenses revoked, and usually prison time to boot. If cars have a feature that unsafe, then law says they must be recalled at the expense of the manufacturers to fix said problem.

But actually, yes..drunk drivers makes an excellent analogy. Its not the car thats the problem, its the person. The vast majority of drivers do not engage in such reckless behavior, so should we legalize drunk driving? I mean, a drunk driver is going to drink, and drive if he wants to, regardless if its illegal or not, so why not just legalize it? Because by keeping it illegal, you reduce the number of drunk driving incidents. You reduce their ability to drive. Does it still happen? Yes. But not nearly as bad as it could be if it were legal.

Same should be for certain guns, such as automatic rifles. Nobody has yet to provide me with ANY plausible reason why a person would NEED an automatic rifle, whether for protection or hunting.

Not only that, Both Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures made "sizable" donations to the givefirst.org site which will help cover some of the medical bills for the victims. So, good to see both Christian and the film companies help where they could, they certainly were not obligated to do so.

I agree, it's really nice of them.
I like that they try to reduce the victims medical bills. Edit: Holy shit.. Just found out that one of the victims is probberly going to have a medical bill on 2 millon dollars... Holy fuck that gave me a shock... Thank god for free health care! I feel so bad for that guy I feel like donating some money.. if getting shot isn't enough you wake up to this bill...

Also saying it's the persons and not the guns are part right and part wrong. Sure it's the person that do the crime, but the gun helps him to do it, and if you can get it anywhere then well..
In Japan you're not allowed to own guns or rifels, which would result in 2008 only 11 people was killed with a firearm. 11 people in a country with 127 million citizen isn't that bad. While in U.S. 12.000 people were killed out of 314 million people. Go figure.

Free? You have no idea what this bill is, or that healthcare is never actually free.

I don't know where you get your news about the u.s., but I suggest you change your sources and educate yourself better about things before you form an opinion.

Right of revolution. How's that for a NEED? Shall I pull items from history to show how disarming the people takes away their ability to revolt, therefore enslaving them?

Your drunk analogy doesn't fit. It is also illegal to drink and carry firearms. Now if they started putting governors on cars, that would be a better analogy. Why isn't anyone calling for that? There are many many more persons killed by automobile than their are guns.

I was saying "thank god for free health care" in Denmark. Could you imagine have a disease that you'd need a surgery in other to live a normal life and feel good, you had to pay buy yourself and it was loads of money? I woudn't face that.

My sources is from danish news sites. http://ekstrabladet.dk/112/article1797072.ece http://www.dr.dk/nav/tekstttv/ type 140 in the box where on the left hand it says "gå til side"

Would owning a hand gun make me feel any safer? No, not really. I seldom feel threatened but I also don't back down from danger and I'm a guy kind of like that guy in the internet cafe. I'd be more likely to tell them to fuck off when the asked for my cash and my wallet then to hand it to them.

I'd wish I had a gun just so the odds were evened out and I wouldn't be afraid to use it either. I guess I'm think more about the other lives saved than I'm thinking about my own. Maybe I think that since I've dodged enough imaginary bullets that I could dodge real ones too but damn it's time somebody shot back at these bastards and like you all have said. The cops never arrive until it's too late.

If this asshole knew that half the people sitting in that theater were armed would the gutless bastard have been so bold? If he knew that just one person was armed and had the presence of mind to shoot his ass before he started killing everyone in sight would he have planned a little differently?

Maybe it's my Old West mentality that says if someone pulls and gun around me or a bunch of innocent people and one of us may die that day and I'm gonna do everything I can think of to see that it's the other guy. Guns to don't scare me. Idiots who have them for the wrong reasons do.
soul I carry every where lawful for me to carry. Some advice I can give do more then just getting a license and a gun. Allot of jimmors post is right about average joes and guns in situations like that being effective. When I started taking tactical courses I realized all these years I was a pretty shitty shot. Learning to shoot on the move and different angles a whole different story to just shooting a paper straight shot. If you arent comfortable and confident with a gun you shouldnt have it cause it could be just a liability.

After seeing this tragedy all my friends that thought I was a psycho for carrying everywhere now agree with me and are carrying also. Also Im glad I carry a five seven which has armor piercing bullets after reading this sick fuck had body armor on. I got that handgun specifically for work cause I work in the arm pit of detroit and Im not taking any damn chances(20 round handgun, light, and armor piercing rounds no brainer). Police arent going to do jack shit and are getting laid off left and right.
