Thread: Madden 13

Haven't played it in years but liked the passing skeletons and hit stick. I usually do the NCAA football (I'm a fan of the wishbone, power T, and Maryland sets). Madden still have customizable plays? Ended up reverting back to a very old NCAA version just for the game play and the button set up.

Yeah, it sucks, but the cool thing is, you can put Chad Pennington's face in the game, and redo his career. Not that i've done that, or anything...

Now I like to play on my PC. Again this company EA screws over the PC... Why can't I have NHL or Madden for my PC? ... Fucking hell EA well done, no wonder you got the Worst Company of the Year award, you might aswell call it EA Worst Company of the Year award.. EA is all about money.. Who cares about the people supporting and playing the game anyway?

True, but it's better than nothing. I can understand that they won't lose like 1000 billions, but it's just the matter of change the controls from the PS3. You have a game like BF3 which was created to be played on PC, yet it works perfectly on PC imo.

The reason why games such as the EA Sports games don't come out on PC is mainly because people crack 'em and lose profit. If they ever where to create a Sports game on PC I'd buy it. I hate the fact that they kinda force me into buying a console. I'm thinking of getting a PS for games like car, and Madden, NHL you name it my budget is just to low for it.
I'd just love to beat the Wings, Bruins with the Hawks like I used to in '07 or around there..
And I'd love to play Madden to get a wider and greater football knowlegde.. And make the Bears win SB and smack the Packers twice in every season.

It's not bad. The game play itself is actually quite good. The new physics engine make for some pretty tackles as well as some very awkward looking ones. It's quite refreshing though coming from a past where players clip through each other on a regular basis.

One of the things that kind of made my jaw drop was when I had two receivers running crossing routes, and when they were about to cross each other I threw the ball to one of them. The receiver caught the ball as the other receiver coming from the opposite way went past him causing his helmet to hit the catching receiver's arm bending it back and spinning him around. In previous years the receiver would have just reached through the other player and caught the ball and kept on running.

I like the overall direction they're trying to go with the game, however as they rebuilt the game from the ground up a lot of the things we're used to seeing haven't been put back into the game yet. Things like full player editing (can't edit player attributes or equipment), stadium options (moving teams, changing prices, creating new stadiums), draft class imports from NCAA 13 (which may get put back in next year, NCAA is scheduled to get its own face lift for NCAA 14 which may bring back our draft imports), and fantasy drafts are missing to name a few.

I really like the XP system where your players gain experience points to spend on attributes to level them up, adding sort of an RPG element to the game. You can level up any aspect of any player to mold the team as you see fit.

They definitely need to fix some major glaring bugs, some of which were fixed in a patch released a few days ago. There was a bug where a CB would be playing zone coverage, but he HAD to come to the LOS before he would drop back into coverage every single time which would allow the receiver to basically run past the CB and be wide open down the field every single time which was patched along with a few other issues.

If you're a big offline franchise mode (now called Connected Careers Mode) player I would honestly say maybe wait until next year unless you have extra cash burning a hole in your pocket to blow on it. Next year it should get better with more of the features we're used to being added into the game again. I would probably give the game a 7 out of 10.

Consoles are inferior to the PC in every way other than the fact that consoles are mass produced thus have pretty much the exact same hardware in every single one. I really don't buy the whole piracy thing myself. There are just as many people who crack console games. A lot of games today are made so you HAVE to have an internet connection in order to play the game, which should go a long way to curb piracy of game media. The fact remains that no matter what game companies do on any device to attempt to stop piracy, someone is going to find a way around it within days of release. It's been proven time and time again.

Also, you need to stop playing Madden on rookie difficulty!

You're right the game could be so much better if it was based on a PC, but weather you like it or, the console are getting bigger and bigger on the game market.. Sadly.. But with BF3 I did expect worse than the outcome.

You're right about the internet connection and when I wrote the reply I was thinking that myself.

I don't even play Madden! But I'd love too tho just need a platform for it.. Curses! But Bears will defeat Packers in any diffcult otherwise some game designer manged to create a bug/fail.
