Well the movie ''Argo'' just proved my point.
Hitler was never excommunicated as a Catholic, either.
Well, in all fairness, the Catholic Church doesn't excommunicate over things like that (killing lots of people)...its usually reserved for direct interference with the Church and/or its teachings by those of the faith...it's also not punitive, but remedial...its intent is to bring a wayward follower back into the fold....in other words, in excommunicating Hitler, the Church would first have to claim him...which I don't think they really ever did, nor would have wanted to do for obvious reasons...Hitler may be been born into a Catholic family, but by adulthood, by all accounts, he had forsaken the Catholic faith altogether...Quote:

At the end of the day, the Catholic Church didn't do much to separate themselves from him or his group, despite what they have said in the following years to justify their outward stance. And had Hitler succeeded, I'm sure they would have had little problem ruling the world from the top of the mountain along side him and Germany.
