Whew! Week one in the books! Houston beats Indy, KC beats SD, the Bears finally get a controversial call go thier way, dogs & cats living together,...sheer chaos!
Menace v. Norman--this game was affected by poor RB production. Michael Bush was a scratch, and Jon Stewart and Fred Jackson each got less than 20 yards. Both QBs (Rodgers and Brees) had uncharacteristic games. Andre Johnson was left with the scraps from Arian Foster, and Crabtree seemed lackadaisical, earning Samurai Mike's ire. Norman squeaks out the W 57-54.
Papa Bear v. Bearfanmike--both teams w/ quality talent, both underperforming in week 1. Schaub handed off all day, and Flacco struggled early vs. Jets. BFM had a big lead early, but Papa Bear came back Monday night. Chris Chambers just couldn't get another 26 yards, so the W goes to BFM 63-61.
Riczaj v. American Pitbull--again talented squads who ran into unexpected difficulties. Riczaj's recievers were held to an average of 52 yards. Pitbulls RBs were bottled up. Riczaj's top performers were Ronnie Brown and Tony Romo, Pitbulls were Roddy White and Antonio Gates. Riczaj wins 69 (heh) to 65.
Globe of Frogs v. Boochee Man--This was really a case of go big or go home. Individual scores were either in the 13-15 range, or the 3-6 range. GOF got production out of his WRs, with big games from Miles Austin and Ochocinco. Boochee got RB points from Chatrles & McCoy, but the early loss of Kevin Kolb hurt him too much. Globe of Frogs wins 95-58.
Hammer of the Gods v. Bigwill--Will got 20 points out of Cutler, but the rest of his team punted on third down. Desean Jackson struggled early w/ coverage, and the loss of Kolb effectivley ended his production. Sims-Walker goose-egged him, and Owen Daniels gained 9 yds. Hammer had the #1 overall draft pick, and CJ2K and Peyton Manning didn't disappoint. Mason Crosby and NYG DEF put up useful scores for him. His WR's disappointed, with Driver's TD giving him the only real production. It was enough to break 100, though. Hammer wins 117-52.
Koko v. Nick--Nick had an enticing double-dip with Eli Manning to Hakim Nicks hooking up for 3 TDs. Dallas Clark's 14 & Fitzgerald's 10 would have given him the victory over most teams in the league. But he ran into the perfect storm. Koko had Tom Brady to Wes Welker double-dip, TDs from Shiancoe & Jennings. And, oh yeah, Arian Foster! Koko wins 141 to 92.
Week 2 match-ups:
Bearfanmike v. Globe of Frogs
Hammer v. Papa Bear
Boochee v. Riczaj
Norman v. Nick
Menace v. Bigwill
Koko v. American Pitbull
