non-superfans week 5

In a season of parity like no other, there are no 4-0 teams in the NFL. Likewise, we now have a 8-way tie for first w/ 8 teams sitting @ 3-2.
Boochee v. Nick
Huge games from Hakim Nicks and Malcolm Floyd were the story for Nick. They propelled him to victory in spite of no scores from Ryan Grant (IR) and Gostkowski (BYE). Imagine if he actually paid attention to his team! Boochee got useful lines from Shady McCoy & Randy Moss, but Devin Hester let him down. Todd Collins effectively took all Bear receivers out of fantasy relevance with his awful performance.
Nick—103 Boochee—79
American Pitbull v. BearfanMike
Pitbull had a WEEK! Every one of his players scored double-digits, and Brandon Lloyd (yes, THAT Brandon Lloyd), Ray Rice, and Detroit’s DEF(!) each scored over 25. He blew away our previous scoring record, and beat BFM by 101 points. BearfanMike had decent WRs, but Greg Olsen was blanked (see Todd Collins comment), and Ryan Torain came up small.
Pitbull—174! BFM—73
Papabear v. Bigwill
Bigwill had a D and kicker on bye this week, and decided to roll with it. Big games from Kyle Orton, Steve Smith (NY), Mike Sims-Walker, and Steven Jackson helped him overcome. For Derek, Matt Schaub had a Todd Collins-esque performance, and he took down Jacoby Jones with him. Add in an uncharacteristically useless game from Boldin, and DeAngelo Williams matching up w/ DaBears run D, and Derek was doomed from the start. He needed a huge game from Harvin last night, and while he put up 25, it wasn’t enough. Derek has horrible luck when needing a Monday night comeback.
Bigwill—68 Papabear—64
Norman v. Globe Of Frogs
Our closest final score of the season-to-date. Both teams were evenly matched. QBs were a wash, Norman had stronger WRs, while Frogs had better RBs. The real difference came in DEF’s, where Frogs’ NO scored 7, and Norman’s STL scored -3. Globe Of Frogs gets the win by 0.12.
Globe of Frogs—63.74 Norman—63.62
Menace v. Riczaj
Riczaj got a big day from Romo and Philly’s DEF, but got hosed by most of the rest of his team. Jermichael Finley left early and looks to be out 3 weeks or more. Menace got decent production all around. Brees, Calvin Johnson, Crabtree, Gould and NYJ DEF (pick 6’s are HUGE) all contributed to a solid win for Menace.
Menace—96 Riczaj--81
Hammer v. koko
Hammer picked up Brandon Jackson this week, and his 66yd. scurry contributed to a win. The big difference, however was CJ2K, who got 2 1yd TDs and 131 total. Arian Foster disappointed koko, and Greg Jennings is just PISSING ME OFF! (goddamn packer stank on my team!) AP got lost in all the Favre + Moss hoopla. This was a battle of top 2 draft slots.
Hammer—90 koko—71
As I’ve stated before, we have an 8-way tie for first @ 3-2, and it’s still anybody’s league to win. Good luck to all (except my current opponents!)
Next weeks matchups:
Boocheeman v. BearfanMike
American Pitbull v. Hammer of the Gods
Papabear v. Nick
Bigwill v. Globe Of Frogs
Norman v. Riczaj
Menace v. koko
