So knowing all this coming in why even listen or read or become upset to what you know is a given? When you boil it all down it's still a JOB there is going to be no "keepin' it real" moment. And even if there was it would create more havok than it would help-especially if your addressing people who cannot help or are in a position to help you.
Then a "no comment" or "next question" would suffice instead of replying and opening yourself to further conjecture or ridicule.

True but that's not how the game is played. If you say "no comment" or "next" all the time you would increase the drama.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

What's the difference when the questions are being addressed by using another standard answer any way. That's the way the game is played by our coaches.

he says COLLECTIVELY need to play better.. and glad that is what he said
agreed DB, as a general course, there is no sense in airing your dirty laundry in public... UNLESS you think it will have a motivating effect (and only the manager knows how that will play out)

I think had Turner done this it would have been more acceptable to all than to make a fool out of himself and his listeners by effectively denying a problem exists and telling it that way he did rather than the way it is.
He could have done this without throwing anyone in particular under the bus including Omiyale and/or Heistand. Coaches to it all the time and so do managers in other professions including myself.
He could have said that we have a talented group of lineman but we're not getting the most out of this or something to that affect without telling what most would consider to be either a foolish statement or a bald faced lie!
PS: If you read this 54 please know that while I had no objection to your disagreement with my position on this I do disagree with the way you went about it. The patronizing tone you took with me was an insult coming from you. You neither know more about Bears football, know my mind, or are anymore learned about this than I am but yesterday you seem to take that approach talking down to me. It wasn't appreciated. Please remember that I'm not your junior in any capacity OK?

"We've got a good offensive line", said Turner, "they're good football players", "they're playing well." "Collectively as an offense we need to do some things better."
I think that is the statement that should have been left out. At the very least he should have acknowledged the poor line play against CIN to counterbalance the statement above.

Thanks for the support and with that I'll bow out. I don't hate Turner or Lovie but telling it like it is isn't all that bad sometimes. You don't have to specificqally criticize just state the obvious and what you intend to do about it that's all I was getting at with this thread.

trollin'trollin'trollin' this post is nuttin but trollin'....
seriously, as if politics have never played a part if a pro teams players/staff/management and front office.
epic fail DB,
.
As for the comment by RT, that also failed, like someone else said, you can come out and say we have good players, but they need to do better. Supporting the garbage on the field is as stupid as the quoted post.

Oh come on...
"We've got a good offensive line"
"they're good football players"
"they are playing well"
???
He is so full of sh*t you you could use him as biofuel and power a small country.
Did he keep a straight face at that press conference? I can just imagine him walking off stage, smirking, thinking to himself "stick that up your a*se Chicago media and fans. You think my offense is bad now? I can feel more Wolfe-up-the-guts coming on next week...".

Ron, Mad Mike, Tice...........the OC's come-and-go, but the one constant is the oline stinking. Oh well. As Lovie always says, there's a lot of football left to play. We like our chances. And the sun will still come up in the morning.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.
