Thanks for the input guys. Everyone made valid points. I made the list to point out that JA hasn't been spot on drafting since he became the G.M. A few gems here and there isn't cutting it when you are drafting for the future of the franchise.

Some of these players are decent players but because of injuries or legal trouble got released. Hind sight is 20/20 or something like that.....LOL I'm sure if any G.M. had things to do over again they would do things differently. I look at things like would Aromashodu seen the field last year had Hester not gotten hurt.
Like you said, Colombo was another guy that forced the Bears' hand because of all of the injuries, Tank had all the legal problems, Harris is having a decent career, but not that good, and Bradley hasn't been any better since leaving. I agree about DA, though. It sucks that it took an injury to get him on the field. Glad he did, though!

Guys this year is "Slicks" last chance to bring in a winner. If not, and given the big moves he's made and money he's spent, the McCaskey's need to give him his marching orders. "Get out, stay out, and don't come back".
I'll probably never be completely happy as a Bears fan until Lovie and War Room Jerry have been kicked to the curb.

Think Indy still has all but 1 or 2 players from the 1st two rounds still on their team, and contributing.
I refuse to use league averages b/c I refuse to rank the Bears w/the Det's, Browns and Oak's of the league.
Unfortunately, averages are the only way to get an objective argument. You are willing to stack them up against the handful of teams that have very good drafts, while dismissing the handful that very poor drafts. Also, it doesnt take into account free agency acquisitions, nor does it account for the fact that alot of draft picks simply fill out rosters and are not even starters, relegated to special teams.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

Just thought I'd throw all draft picks out there, I hope I got all them, somebody let me know if I left somebody out or missed something.

I won't give JA too much credit nor too much blame. Lack of player development (Rod comes to mind) and players sitting on the bench like D.A. or draft picks that don't even see the field due to redshirt (Bennett) or during blowouts or for whatever else of a reason.
Add in scheme and players playing out of position and I'd say we are in the middle of the pack when it comes to G.M.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Yes Jimmors I am willing to stack the deck b/c I want and expect the Bears to be consistant winners. Why would I rate them against teams I don't want them to be like? I want a guy like Polian as the GM of the Bears b/c he shows an ability to consistantly draft well and put his teams in position to win SB's, while a guy like Al Davis puts his team in a position to constantly draft in the top 10.
FA is another matter that would be much harder to judge. Jimmy Johnson said, when he was coaching, he only worried about 1/3 of the teams, and that the rest would find a way to beat themselves. Right now I would not put the Bears, the way they are coached/run/draft, 1/3 team range.

I think what Jimmors might be trying to get at is that if you were to look at all of the teams then you can see the league average. If the Bears are in that middle of the pack area then all of the JA hate is a bit harsh. If the Bears were closer to the Browns/Lions/etc. then the hate might be justified. And, crazy as it seems, if they were on the better side of the average line then JA should get more respect. Now, having said that, I'm sure the Bears would come out slightly below average to poor, but we don't know that until we average all of the teams.
