Now, having said that, I'm sure the Bears would come out slightly below average to poor, but we don't know that until we average all of the teams.
Correct. And yes Riczaj, id expect the Bears to be up top and be in those handful of teams who are consistent drat day winners, and im willing to admit that we are not there. While that may be true, that doesnt mean the exact opposite is true either, that we are bottom feeders who cant accomplish anything on draft day either, im willing to bet we are somewhere in the lower middle of the pack.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

I don't think the Bears are bottom feeders that can't draft. I just think JA needs to learn to draft better, but I don't think he'll have any more chances after this year.

JA's not the worst, but he's been given a free ride b/c on early round busts and "hidden gems" in the late rounds. But this has really negatively effected the Bears. And I refuse to allow myself to compare the Bears to anything other then the teams that have shown an ability to win, or at least be in that conversation each year...right now we seem to be in the group of we screwed it up. Middle of the pack isn't good enough for a GM.
If you want this team to win and win consistantly, then the Bears need a GM and scouting team that can draft, and a set of coaches that can develop/game plan, I'd say both are suspect; but since the thread was about JA, I was keeping it there.

People have been pointing out JA shortcomings for years why does it finally hit home? Everyone who has pointed out JA bull before were being flamed left and right. With how much our staff gets paid I expect top notch effort to create a winner. Not dumb crap like bidding against yourself for a backup G on another team and expect him to start on ours after he cant even break the starting lineup on another year. Not throwing a mega contract on a WR who hits a career year when he is 31. Just saying the dumb shit that I have seen from JA and his crew is unreal

JA has been below average at GM and his draft record shows it. Has JA ever traded up to land a pick? I do not ever remember seeing him trade up to get a player that may put us into the elite teams category. Instead he will trade down to land more picks and draft more special teams players. You traded 2 #1 picks for a franchise qb so I expect him to draft some linemen to protect your top player on the team yet he will probably draft defense like he does each year and pick a linemen with a 5th or 6th round pick.

the guy freaking forgot to check the damn box on Colvin and we lost him for nothing that is how much of a genius he is

Um, why is it not ok to compare JA's ability to teams that consistantly make it to the playoffs?
Frankly, I don't give a shit what league averages are. We aren't makeing it to the playoffs consitently so he isn't getting the job done. I never make comparrisons to averages, when I am shooting for the best. That makes absolutely no sense to me, whatsoever.

And that's why we have the best special teams in the league year in and year out but we can't even win our division. Like I've said it's time to stop drafting athletes who excel on ST's and start drafting postion players who excel at theirs.

Well we don't have it as bad as some. I think about ole War Room Jerry and his missteps and then I recall an article in Rolling Stone last September about Dan Snyder and the way he's handled the Redskins.
We could have it far worse.
Man what a scathing piece. I can't find a link to it but the issue number is #1091 and has Shakira on the cover.
