no, you jus refuse to see the difference between a large market/small market revenue plan( which the article you posted ironically even states that si what it is), that is NOT split between all the teams
And splitting gate revenue as you claimed.
let me try one last time.
if the yankees play a 3 game series in pitts, what is the gate split the yankees receive from pitts?. if you can't answer this, or say zero, hopefully it FINALLY hits home

Benj,
With all due respect, and I do respect your opinions on this board, I think you are wrong here.
Splitting gate receipts and revenue sharing are related, but not the same thing.
When the Yankees came to town over the weekend, the White Sox added 100% of the gate receipts to their total revenue number. They did not have to give the Yankees any of that revenue. If it were the NFL and the NY football Giants were playing at Soldier Field, the NY Giants would be entitled to 40% of the gate receipts. The remaining 60% would go to the Bears revenue numbers.
Once the gate receipt revenue gets added to the total revenue numbers in MLB, it's then becomes part of the revenue sharing plan. There is a difference.

Perhaps we are confusing what each other are saying.
The article I just posted states that teams have a percentage from ticket sales and concessions from all 30 teams and is put into a large pot which is shared between the teams.

just saying..
GZ, we have had these back/forths a few times and as we both respect each other have no problem with it, its all good- but will always call you , when you go overboard( and you even admit you do..lol) with the negativity, and try and reel ya back in!
bear down!
And i'll disagree STRONGLY with that- we had leads of 7-0 and 14-6 in the superbowl( morethan just hester), and midway through the 3rd quarter the score was 19-14 colts, that isn't an embarrasment and its a tight game.Yeah we had some very fustrating plays and sucked we lost, but as someone at the game- still think if it wasn't for the monsoon coming down we do win that day, without the slippery balls and mistakes that happened because of the weather.but the weather did happen and we did lost, but it sure was not a 46-10 beatdown or a 55-10 score that we have seen in superbowls before for what STUNK does look like in a superbow
Ok.....all points taken.
I'm not gonna spend the rest of this very short week beating them up.
I want to start getting "HIGH" for Thursday Night!
hmmmmmmmm.........

Exactly Benj.
But that is by definition revenue sharing, not splitting gate receipts. The net effect of revenue sharing is that some of the gate receipt revenue eventually gets reduced, but it's a little different in how it works. Splitting gate receipts is between 2 teams, not the entire league.

Then perhaps that is the issue that DB and I are having undertanding one another. I count ticket sales as gate receipts, so when I was saying the teams split gate receipts what I was saying was the teams all pay into a pot that gets split with that. Which is exactly what I was saying from the get go, just not spelling it out completely.

Yeah, I understand. That's why I jumped in. Technically, the 2 are very different.
