What I do see wrong is someone bumping threads not because of what the media said about the bears but what people predicted before the season started. A certain somebody who i will not say is bumping threads for one particular reason and it is not what the media said about the bears. There is no need to bump old thread when we can talk about what the team is doing right now. I am ok with the bears right now and I am not living in the past but moving forward. I think the bears have a good chance on going to the superbowl this year because I think the NFC is a toss up. I think the weakest link is the seahawks. Any of the other 5 teams that are in can go all the way.
Agreed, as I had stated to Ric in a previous post, I misread some of what was happening and stepped into the middle of that conversation. Meant no offense. BEAR DOWN.

They had a bad last game against the Pack, and that really put them over the top. the noise factor was something they really had not dealt with. Before that game, the most they had given up after the bye, was 4 against the Eagles, and Detoilet. Both wins and good wins as well. Forte ran for a good amount of yards and 19 sacks in 8 games is not alarming. That would translate to 38 in a year. Yep, that is not top tier, but it is not alarming either.
I know it is tough when your QB gets sacked 52 times in a year. But, we need to develop players. I believe that they are getting better.
If 3.8 average is "almost 4" then a 2.7 avg is "almost 3"
So yes, they went from giving up 4 sacks a game, to only giving up 3 sacks a game...sign them up for the probowl. You can disect the season all you want...hey Bears only gave up 1 sack to Bills after the bye, they MUST be improving...until they play other teams and give up 4.
Fact remains, they gave up the MOST sacks this season. Jay was sacked 52...second place was Flacco @ 40. Bears gave up 12 more sacks then the next worst offender. So you can disect the season any way you choose, it wont change the fact that whatever "improvement" the OL had was minimal at best.
Oh, and btw, we have only been basing this on sacks against Cutler, not sacks given up. Todd Collins was sacked 3 times in the Carolina game when Jay was out, so actually...Bears have given up 55 sacks this season.
