most tims sacks ina year 76 by davi carr with texans... bears didn't get eitehr of these
Lol, Bears lead the league in Sacks given up in 2010...theres your "record" for you. 52 sacks is only good if youre talking about your defense, other then that, its typically a BAD thing. But hey, its the most sacks given up since....drumroll....2006 Detroit Lions on John Kitna.

hmm guess I do not count leading the league as a "record", do you seriously? so when forte lead rookies he is a NFL record holder now? So when the bears lead in special teams that means its a record setting St unit? And if the bears lead in rushing "D', we can then call it a record setting defense?.. i do not agree with that

WHO CARES ABOUT RECORD?
I mean really...is that how youre trying to spin this piss poor OL? "well they dont have the RECORD in sacks given up, so they arent THAT bad."
Well hell, you are correct db, they are not as bad as the worst OL in NFL history, pop the champagne, the Houston Texans record is safe for another year.
But what they ARE is the WORST OL THIS SEASON...and have been pretty high up on the charts for the past few years. Now...you can try and spin that all you want, but at the end of the day, its a HUGE problem that needs to be fixed. We won IN SPITE of our OL, not because of it.

when someone posts
setting a NFL record for sacks
And poiting out we didn't set andy NFL record for sacks and gave the real NFL records, becuase it wasn't true and no use psoting false things.
Doesn't mean the bear ol-ine is good doesn't mean the bears line isn't awful even.. just means IT DID NOT SET ANY NFL RECORD FOR SACKS.. nothing more, nothing less
take a breath and don't chase windmills

I may be wrong, but i do believe 4th was referring to the Giants game when the Bears got the NFL record for most sacks in a half.

And replace "Have" with "Half" and that sentence makes more sense. If anyone should recognize typos db....

We did give up an awful lot of sacks this year. BUT, the second half of this season has been MUCH Better. At the point that we met the Giants, we had only 40% of our starting O line in tact, had used 5 different lineups and were TERRIBLE!!! No doubt.
To judge them NOW, based on what was happening in October is foolish. Are they Great, HELL NO, are they even GOOD??? No, not really. Are they getting better, much more stable and learning curve that is enviable??? HELL YES!!!
This may not be our year, but going into the playoffs with this situation is BETTER than ANY OF us believed in September. This O line was going to be atrocious, but we survived, we won the division and a bye. Who would have thought.
Next year, these guys will know the system, have a year to refine and learn and grow. Be pushed by draft picks, or FA's and be a FAR MORE experienced group of YOUNG players. I am EXTREMELY encouraged about this.
No doubt, they sucked back then, though. It is just STUPID to compare what we have now to what was then.

How about just not saying anything and letting it either be a nice surprise or end up a quiet disappointment if more "gellin" does not happen.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
