It didn't need to be an argument of semantics, we are ALL grownups here, i think..But yeah, the line has been bad, but the last few weeks i put more blame on Cutler's shoulders for sacks than most of the rest of the season. Also, (because I'm too lazy) I wanna see how much better the line has been since the 7 step drop...

And poiting out we didn't set andy NFL record for sacks and gave the real NFL records, becuase it wasn't true and no use psoting false things.
Doesn't mean the bear ol-ine is good doesn't mean the bears line isn't awful even.. just means IT DID NOT SET ANY NFL RECORD FOR SACKS.. nothing more, nothing less
take a breath and don't chase windmills
Some things just never change. First we bump old threads from a few months ago and now we are arguing about something I posted on in this thread. I am shocked that you could not figure out I ment to say setting a NFL record for sacks in a "HALF" not "HAVE". Just incase you are still confused on what I was talking about read this article about how the giants set an NFL record by sacking Jay Culter 9 times in a half.

To judge them NOW, based on what was happening in October is foolish. Are they Great, HELL NO, are they even GOOD??? No, not really. Are they getting better, much more stable and learning curve that is enviable??? HELL YES!!!
This may not be our year, but going into the playoffs with this situation is BETTER than ANY OF us believed in September. This O line was going to be atrocious, but we survived, we won the division and a bye. Who would have thought.
Next year, these guys will know the system, have a year to refine and learn and grow. Be pushed by draft picks, or FA's and be a FAR MORE experienced group of YOUNG players. I am EXTREMELY encouraged about this.
No doubt, they sucked back then, though. It is just STUPID to compare what we have now to what was then.
How many years does this line need to be together before they start gelling? Last year the line looked better at the end of the year yet we looked like crap the entire season. In preseason Jay took a beating and it still shows. Just because sacks are down does not mean this line does not suck. The difference I see is that Jay is getting rid of the ball faster, forte has been running better, the wrs are actually catching the ball and jay is avoiding sacks by running out of the pocket. Those factors are what I see and those factors I feel are the reasons the sacks are slightly down. Webb still gets blown up and he needs help yet he is a rookie. Chris Williams has been a mystery yet looking better. Garza I don't know and Olin I don't think is playing as bad as he did last year. Still the line is old and getting worse, they are not getting better. Jay on the other hand has to pick up the slack and get rid of the ball much quicker or get hit.
