    2010 chicago bear records set...

well another year is upon us and many records in reach and others will just pop up as the year goes on.

    9/12:

Forte ran 17 times for 50 yards but caught seven passes for 151 yards. His 201 total yards made him the fourth Bear in history to do that, joining Walter Payton (11 times), Gale Sayers (three) and Neal Anderson (one). It was the first time for a Bear to top 200 yards since Anderson 21 years ago

The interception was the 23rd of Tillman’s career, which moved him into a tie with former safety Roosevelt Taylor for ninth place in franchise history. Tillman entered the year tied for 10th place with Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus and cornerback Allan Ellis.

With his 190th straight start, Patrick Manelly moved into a tie for 2nd all time with walter payton on games played on bears-one behind Steve McMichael record 191( manelly breaks record in week 3)

Once the dust settles on the "controversial" call, this win will be given the credit it deserves. The Bears bounced back from turnovers to score 10 pts in the last minute and half of the first half. THAT'S what won them the game, not "The Call". The defense dominated. Cutler perservered. And it's week one, they'll only get better.

By the numbers: The 463 yards of total offense the Bears generated Sunday was their most since Oct. 27, 1997 in a 36-33 Monday night overtime victory against the Dolphins in Miami. The last time they had more than 463 yards in a regulation game was Oct. 22, 1995 in a 35-32 win against the Oilers.

The defense allowed just 168 yards, the fewest by a Bears team since Oct. 8, 2006, when the Bills were held to 145 yards.

Hester breaks his own personal record yes, but not the all time record for punt returns in a career. He is two away from tying that.

But he is one return away from tying the all time returns mark!

By the numbers: Devin Hester's 62-yard punt-return TD Monday night was the eighth of his career, along with 4 kickoff-return TDs. The combination of 12 kick-return touchdowns ties him for second in NFL history with Dante Hall and Eric Metcalf, just 1 behind Brian Mitchell's record of 13. - Robbie Gould's 19-yard field goal with four seconds left Monday night was his ninth game-winner, seven of which have come at Soldier Field. - Johnny Knox's 94 receiving yards were a career high. ...

BTW records that should fall this year:

    1. brad maynard- need 1,602 yards in 2010 to break bobby joe green's all time putn yardage record of 35,057, and will with each punt downed inside the 20 add to his record of 260 and counting

    2. jay cutler-

    A. yards 3,838 by eric krammer will most likely fall

    b. Td's- 28 again should easily fall

    c. Qb rating 107.8 by luckman, currently on pace, but be hard to end there. career Qb rating 80.7 krammer likely to fall also.

d.Attempts- 336, jay already owns record but expect it to passed this year

e.Completion % sugar shane owns at 61.1 for career and 65.1 for season, jay can own both by season's end

f.300 + games in season record is 4 by bill wade

    3. charles tillman - INT td's- has 3, with his 4th will tie mike brown for most in history

And while the bear's record book doesn't list tackles, saw a stat last week that urlacher was closing in the all time tackle record, but can't verify it yet
