I for one thought we would be 9-7 again. I thought the NFC East and AFC East opponents on our schedule would be too tough to handle. Handling the Cowboys in Dallas was a big surprise. See the Bears offense get more and more comfortable each week is awesome. Seeing the o line starting to play better is also encouraging. Our defense is playing well too. Yet we still have issues on both sides of the ball: Short yardage Offense, running game, tackling, 3rd down conversions given up by the defense.
I'm so happy we're 3-0. We aren't dominating anyone yet though, so I don't want to look too far ahead. On paper, it's possible the Bears get to 7-0, but at this point in the season, I'll take 4-0 and continue to hope the betters get better each week.

Just feels so good, to get out to this start and get back to football talk and not negativity.Figured if we went 2-2 in first we would be in great shape for a playoff run, and with the vikes and old man favre looking like crap, the window is getting wider with each game.
had thought before the year, this would be a "wide open" year and alot of 9-7 , 10-6 teams and so far looks like this will come to pass, there isn't a team in the NFL you look at and can't find 'warts"..
Yes you did. I'm still cautiously optimistic. I want to take one game at a time and see improvement on both sides of the ball.

Agree the TEAM AND PLAYERS takes each game "one at a time". but us fans allowed to "peek forward" : )
And in a strange way, kinda Like not dominating people yet- keeps everyone humble and wanting to improve and the "chip on shoulder", which for whatever reason's is somethign the bears do react ALOT BETTER to.
Both in 2005 and 2006, we played great when many were doubting, but in both years laid eggs and had bad games when finally everyone praising them as the "best".. so let the skepticism and doubt continue : )
And what is something NOT expected is how some of the teams expected to vie for playoff spots really stinking the joint up, be it Giants, san fran, redskins( can't lose to rams!), vikes etc also makes the path easier

Agree DB.
Saw some tape of Briggs after the game and he mentioned the "underdog" role and how they don't care about it and just want to go out and win.
We as fans certainly can look forward, but I'm still in the cautiously optimistic mode.

Just figured after 8 months of "looking forward" threads about how awful we would be ,, how be 'lucky" to even win 4-5 games.. how after the preseason all was lost and "looking forward= 5 wins or less and everyone fired, blah blah"
be nice to "look forward" with a Positive slant and view.. on what is a very realistic 7-0 , 6-1 start to season now

I think it's still too early to assume that our next four opponents are weak. I do think the Bears are a legit team, but I'm not sold that the Giants and Skins are scrubs just yet. And as always... any given sunday.

Oh don't think either "scrubs" butka, but BOTh have significant problems and bears WILL be favored in both games is the point- doesn't mean a guarantee will win, and in football almost always have that "L" on agame expected to win.. just how it goes- just saying the 'possiblity" does exist now and its realistic, which is a far cry from even a month ago and what was 'realistic" for 7 games.
BTW what did you think of shaffer at RT yesterday?

Ok gotcha DB. Yeah, 7-0 is not an unbelievable prospect now. I still don't think we get it, but at any rate, we're sitting pretty right now. I agree with your idea though, it's not completely unreasonable as it was before.
Schaefer looked pretty good. Webb looked good too. I'm thinking Webb will be a solid RT in a year or two. I'm getting excited about his potential, and I've already made my optimistic opinion of Louis clear in the past and I'll still beat that drum. I still think Omiyale won't cut it at left tackle and Williams is our best option there. They were helping Omiyale a lot and he got burned badly quite a few times.

At the moment, the Bears are a three point dog on the road.
However. Since the home team automatically gets three points for home field advantage, it's basically a pickem
