Greg Olsen, Oh the Irony!!!
I was lurking on the main board today and realized something. Greg Olsen has been our best blocking tight end so far this season(note: Clark is rarely on the field) Manu has looked like a bust of a signing so far this season. He's definitely not worth all of that money we paid him. Olsen has also been a factor in an anti-tightend offense. Way to prove 'em wrong Greg!!!

Manu has been good when used out of the backfield as a run blocker. As a pass blocker, not so much. Really, he's gotten eaten up so far by Matthews and Ware. I think Martz recognized that when he decided to only use him on double teams and chips after the first quarter-ish in both of those games.

I have always liked Olsen and I felt he has one of the best hands but in the Turner offense we are ruining him like other previous qbs, wrs and rbs.

He's hardly having a blow out year though, 10 catches in 3 games, 140 yrds and 2 td's; outside of the TD(tied for 3rd for te's) thats bottom 20 in TE rec', and out of the top ten TE yards. So far he's slightly more active then Bennet(who didn't play b/c of DA; if you were to add those two together as the slot wr their rec's are more, yards are the same and Greg's TD's are better). I will say this, he's clearly outshining our #1 wr, but then again so is everyone but BUT DA, who again has only played in 1 game.
It is good to see him getting used though b/c he is one of our best wr threats; and I believe he's *on pace* to have one of the biggest Martz TE years of any of them.
