Running game QUESTION
Whenever I read a post about the running game, I'm seeing very little mention of Chester Taylor. He seemed to provide the only offensive spark (3 rushes, 22 yards) in the game, yet I don't think I even saw him at all in the second half.
So why in the world are we not utilizing Chester Taylor? The dude is a VERY good running back. Why do we stubbornly insist on only running Forte?
Another idea: Why not try using Forte and Taylor together in the same backfield?

Martz and Lovie don't think outside the box. They like what they are comfortable with and not letting the players play to their potential. I hate this lone back crap and always wanting to run it into a pile or trying to stretch it out when playing a quick D. Example the four chances at a TD that got stuffed. Get a big body back there and let him mow his way in, like Perry did in the 80's. Lovie and Martz need to think outside their box and start using the players the way they can succeed.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!

2 reasons:
1.Martz...the system is pass happy, and not so reliant on the running game. Thats not a knock on the RBs since Forte and Taylor are pretty good RB and excellent pass catchers, but as a straight up run offense, it is all dependent on the pass setting up the run instead of vice versa, so when our passing game is taken out of the equation, then our running game becomes an act of desperation.
2.The OL...OL sucks, and more often then not, the RBs are hit before or as they hit the line of scrimmage, which is evidence of our Ol being unable to open holes or even make a push. That shouldve been painfully obvious during our failed goal line stand against Detroit.

Most of those came at garbage time, in the last minute of the first half.

Here's my question...
we obviously have a poor OL so why not incorporate some Zone Blocking into our running game? We're getting killed with slants & stunts and obviously we can't block one-on-one, so I think its a fair way to try to create some running lanes for our RBs. Zone blocking is about 2-3 OL working together to block an area rather than working alone. They obviously can't create holes by manning up and doing it alone, so I think its a nice alternative. The screen pass was working well w/ Forte at the beginning of the year so we know our C/G/T can somewhat pull
