Pull Collins out, Wildcat the rest of the game!
If the Bears manage to hold on to this lead and win the game, it will be in spite of Collins. My toddler would do a better job than him lining up under center.
The Bears picked him up because he's a veteran with experience. I don't care how much "experience" you have, if you have absolutely ZERO accuracy in the pass, you have no business being a QB in the NFL. He has done everything possible to lose this game for us, but our defense and Forte has prevented his evil plan from coming to fruition. The only thing he has done well today is hand the ball off, and that's not saying much.
Since the run started off so well, we should just play the rest of the game from the wildcat formation. Every time he drops back to pass, I just assume it will be another interception.
EDIT: Hey, they finally pulled their heads out of their ass and took out Collins! By keeping Collins in, the Bears would have become purely one dimensional since the Panthers completely lost the respect of our passing game.

This just proves Lovie Smith is a turd. Why in the hell would you leave this bozo in a game when all he is doing is helping the panthers stay close in the game.

I only got to see part of the game(son had a soccer game) but from what I saw, Collins and his "experience" are laughable jokes. Give me Haine all week, and twice on Sundays.

They almost waited too long to give Collins the hook,I was whispering when he got sacked..."stay down".
Hanie didn't do badly,I hope he gets a few reps this week,Collins is worthless.

omg Collins was not just bad, of the 4 qb's that played in this game(sad stat to begin with) he had the worst stat's! Cut this bum; and stick w/Haine!

Now we know who to cut to sign A. Boone.

Almost? They definitely hung with Collins too long. They should have put Hanie in there earlier and given him some more game experience and passing situations. He's gotta get the experience sometime. The Panthers weren't going to beat us... so I say open up the play book for Hanie. But no... Lovie "Rex is our quarterback" Smith stuck with Collins too long after a miserable performance. Let Hanie pass the ball.

I would have said let Hanie play the rest of the game too (I'd like to see what he has-and I think he's got some real potential.) But I assumed he was still nursing his injury. I think that the way this game devolved into such a rush fest is because of the ineptitude of both teams' passing abilities. This would have been the perfect opportunity to try out the Wildcat formation in at least one series of possesion. (Obviously it's not a sustainable strategy, but a strategy to go to when the passing game is just not there and the run seemed to be working well for us.
I think that Collins is probably here to stay for the rest of the season since the only other alternative would be to go back to the scrap heap and find another has been QB. I wouldn't have minded seeing Garcia signed, but then whoever they sign has to learn our schemes and playbook.
Remember, if the Bears release Collins and sign a new QB, that QB would then take away valuable reps and time on the practice squad from Hanie. I don't particularly like that scenario as much as I'd like to see Collins hit the road. He's already paid for, might as well keep him for the rest of the season. You can always argue about opening up another roster spot, but having only two QBs on the roster is a bit scary, even if that 3rd stringer sucks so bad, maybe-just maybe he would be able to get us out of a game with a win from the D. At least he knows our scheme enough to turn in the correct direction to hand the ball off!
