Maybe you should read back through the thread and see what is being discussed. Those are total NFL stats and we are among the top with our Defense and over all (you know, the forrest that wolf mentioned) we could very well be the best NFC team.
Nah, we're talentless.
I agreed, we are the best TEAM in the NFC.. and you want to know why.. Deion Sanders stated in week 5.. That's creditable right there.. No need for stats or watching the game Deion Sanders stated it.
Now if Deion stated, we were not the best.. and we lucked into our record.. He be a moron..

Or until there is more of a sample size..

I hear we should petition the loss to the Giants as its not helping our forest of delusions, if we have a loss... That should be a win cause the Bears are the best.. And Wolf playing Madden proves that everyday.
God, you're such a childish, little putz...Nobody, and mean nobody, is homer-ing on the Bears as much as you claim or make it out to be...most of us are just happy we are winning and appear to have enough talent to compete for and hopefully win the NFC North...everyone but people like you...Nobody is claiming this team is perfect or Superbowl bound...we all, for the most part, see the imperfect areas that need improvement...your “realist insight and expertise” is nothing more then very common knowledge...

Yes, my son..
This whole thing is getting blown out because all of a sudden Deion fa-king Sanders states the bears "MAY BE" (not for sure), the Best team, with a small sample size to go from. I didn't know he was a great source of football knowledge. And from that Sample size, luck more than Talent is shown as why they won.
As I have agreed with Nick, week 10 is a good judge of where the team is at. They have 2 more easy wins.. The rest are going to see if Luck or Talent that this team has. Depending on how Minny fairs the next two-three weeks, will see if this is the Bears Div to loose.. Or a 2 team race. With all the injuries to GB, I can see them starting to fad away out of the picture.
The first big test for the Bears IMO was against the packers.. The Packers killed themselves with the 17-8 flags.. The next was the Giants game, which we all know what happened. This week should be a cakewalk.. WAS game, is a toss up.. If Portis is out, ( thought I read he was done for the year somewhere) Then the bears should walk way with an easy W.. if not, it will be a fight that might not go their way.

There is a reason the Panthers are 0-5... and its not because of coaching.

The Bears have the 3rd best 'D' in the league behind the Steelers and Jets (not going by stats but by looking at the play on the field) the best special teams and the best backfield in the league (lets hope Martz remembers that from now on).
Our big problem is pass-protection. I think we're a Super Bowl contender if we run the ball more than we pass (or at least 50-50) and we're a playoff team that loses in the 2nd round if Martz try to have The Greatest Show On Turf Part II.
If Marts incorporates Forte and Taylor more, I don't see who can beat the Bears.
