One concussion is bad enough, and each one thereafter is even worse. So yes, the second is worse than the first, third is greater than the second and so on.
Do you want or need me to post concussion studies to show this?
just because you didn't know, most did know it was always available and sure hasn't changed a thing now that you do know from 3 days ago- still the exct same situation
Also- yes can you show some data and research the 3rd concussion is worse than 2nd an so on..
How do you explain a player Like waddle having soemtimes 4 concussions in one game and never being the worse for wear, and NOT the 3rd worse than 2nd etc? he probably sustained close to 20 in career- and now does commentary and writes for the Paper- so hasn't had long term effects
And others have ONE and never the same..
I'd love to see the statistical research showing this scale of concussions always being worse,, thanks
Everyting I've read says its very much up to the individual, and while "some" can hve multiple concussions with no short term or long term effects, others just one can be a disaster- and that si why do the "baselines' in NHL and NFL now, because no statistical evidence "one concussion model fits all", and very much up to the individual

Ok, when i get to a real computer and not just an iPod I will give you medical research that says multiple concussions are bad.

Just to be clear DB, are you saying having multiple concussions is no different than having one?
And while the second or third may not be worse than the first, having two is worse than having one, having three is worse than having two and so on.

3 concussions at Vandy where he started all 4 seasons and never missed a game due to injury? (If I have my information correct) Not saying it’s not possible, but something doesn’t sound right…I would really like to know more about the how and the why and the severity of these concussions…

no, would like the research that states the 2nd makes a player worse then first, 3rd worse then 2nd and 4th worse then 3rd... liek it some logrythmic scale and have not seen anythin stating that. And as stated have seen its very much up to the individual cases, and "some" do not have worse effects from the 3rd from the 2nd.. and others have drastically worse.
Which is WHY the leagues moving to a "baseline" test for all players when entering league or before year, to have the individual "baselines" to compare, because not as simple as each one progressively worse

Even 5 -7 years ago, they just gave you smelling salts on sideline and sent you back out there.. might do the old "how many fingers?".. and you might miss a series, but still wouldn't sit out the next week, esp if a 'star" player. And Vandy wasn't/isn't very good so any Vandy Qb in the SEC takes a beating and be more shocking if they went a year without one.. having to go against flor, alabama etc when totally outclassed most times : )

The initial symptoms may not be worse but each concussion you get, it's bad for your brain.

Ok, that makes sense…which makes me wonder how bad some of these concussions where and if there aren’t more QBs in the NFL running around with multiply concussions…plus, I understand there are no “good” concussions, but I got think there are different levels of severity…seems like in the NFL at least, they have gone from “no big deal, rub a little dirt on it” to “OMG, it’s the worst possible injury ever!” Like most things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle…
