Dick Butkus minced no words when assessing the Bears.

"The offensive line is awful," he said on "Chicago Tribune Live." "The 'Skins and whoever else we play have to be looking at tapes today and licking their chops. … It would be different if it was just the left tackle blowing a block every other play. But this is the left guard, then the left tackle, then the right guard."

On the new coordinators, Butkus said: "Was Lovie (Smith) forced to hire these guys? Is he a lame-duck head coach? … It can only get worse." Butkus was in town to promote his Charity Fight Night on Thursday night to benefit his I Play Clean foundation.

He spoke the truth.

This OL has 0 talent outside of Chris Williams and maybe JaMarcus Webb. And Butkus is right we cannot expect it to get any better because this is not a matter of guys playing bad, it is bad players playing as good as they can.

As the season progresses this is what is going to happen.

-The OL is going to get less and less confident as teams start blitzing on every play of thegame.

-Cutler, if he is not already, will become shell shocked and look more and more like David Carr.

I watched the interview last night and he said he would blitz the bears on every down and for them to make the adjustments.
