True.. but in this uncapped year just give him a big signing bonus and keep the yearly decent and it shouldn't hurt us going forward.

Who's to say Harris or Manu are even attractive to the Pats, most teams probably realize it's a waiting game and these guys will be available anyway. Not sure the Pats are dying to line up Harris either.

realistically and not fantasy land all teams have a budget even if there is no cap. Also teams have to account for the possibility of the cap coming back next season. If that happens and Mankins would put us in bad shape cap space wise next year I can see why they pass on him. We have spent unwisely in other areas so being able to afford a Mankins might not be plausible

and we just gave Manu a big bonus when we signed him doubt he is let go. NE has two bad ass rookie TEs idt they care for ours. They want dlinemen but Harris isnt a 3-4 guy

I think they have to pay Mankins. They have little choice. With him, they've got a real chance.

Well if you want to get real it all comes down to greed at that point. Do you really think the Bears will be losing money if they chose to spend $8mil on another player? Doubtful.

I don't know about a SB "real chance" but it's a shot in the arm. A double shot if they start running more and with success.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Like Motown said, I'm not sure the Pats want Tommie. He's not a 3-4 nose. The Pats are rumored to be seeking a first round or high second round pick for Mankins.

Greed or good business? Sure all owners want to win but realistically they also want to make money for their investment. And our owners dont own this team as a toy it is actually their source of income. That is reality

and a couple owners that do own teams as toys-Redskins and Cowboys- have spent nothing on FAs last offseason despite the no cap.

What happens if we give Mankins a 55mil deal and next year there is a cap and now we are over it by 10 mil. Give me 10 mil of players you are going to cut plus their replacements and cap allotments for thos replacements..............

I want Mankins too-and yes I still think McNeil was the guy to go balls out and get before he got re-signed- but we dont know what resources they have to work with. Actually Im just happy they looked into it. At least they show they tried to look for something other then dline for once.
