Notes, my top 5 teams and picks for the entire slate of games. Matt Bowen

Brian Urlacher, Bears: The Chicago defense should expect plenty of misdirection and movement passes from Mike Shanahan’s offense in Washington. In Chicago's Cover 2, the Mike backer has to be sound in his run/pass reads. Donovan McNabb wants to force Urlacher to the line of scrimmage with play action and throw the ball down the filed between the two deep safeties.

Green Bay: Defeating the Vikings’ Tampa 2 coverage. Know that is what you are going to see from Minnesota on third downs and in the red zone. QB Aaron Rodgers knows the routes that are effective and I would not be surprised to see Green Bay utilize the screen game to slow down that front four pressure led by DE Jared Allen.

Chicago: After seeing what Seattle did to Chicago with pressure off the edge, why would ‘Skins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett do anything different? No need to even mention Mike Martz’s passing scheme when the Bears can’t protect QB Jay Cutler. Had a week to make corrections—let’s see what they came up with.

    My Week 7 picks...

    Chicago over Washington

    Green Bay over Minnesota
How very generous. Sporting News, Peter King from Sports Illustrated, Sam Farmer and 5 of 8 pundits at ESPN are picking the Redskins. I don't blame them. The Bears took two steps back last week and need to show they can block on offense. Until they show they can block pundits are going to pick against them assuming they can't block.

I'll be interested to see who the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times reporters pick. I'll guess the majority will pick the Redskins, although Sean Jensen I think will pick the Bears. He hasn't picked against them all year. John Mullin at CSNChicago picked the Bears 16-14.

Like it better when the underdog( we are undefeated when the 'analysysts" pick against us).. we are 3 point faves in Vegas FWIW.. Do think we will play Alot better this sunday and do expect a "W"

I have the bears 24 redskins 13... with another ST TD and Cutler to go over 300 yards

Color me skeptical. Until I see the offense block I can't predict a victory. Mullin predicts 1 sack plus offensive holding penalties. I say the sack or offensive holding penalties is 5, meaning that combination will be 5. Translated: the offense still can't block.

and that's fine, some can see it was mental more than physical, and i know you are down on them now, so expect you to wait until the victories pile up before you will not be.

I just don't want to see another Giants or Seahawks type o-line performance.

Jeff, I agree with your skepticism, but there is one glimmer of hope I hold on to. This team, unlike recent years, has shown a tremendous ability to do 2 things. Adjust, and come out hard after a loss. We have seen 2 types of adjustments, albeit inconsitantly as the team has played.

    1) in game- Dallas
    2) next game- Carolina

A glimmer of hope, we never would have seen either one with the previous OC (who shall be nameless). I hold out this hope for this game to see that the Offense adjusts to the rush.

    dabears54,

What jersey should I wear Sunday, Piccolo or Butkus?

My planned next jersey is #74 Jim Covert. Long overdue.

I would go with the butkus jersey as a spit in the face to the nfl and their jihad against defense
