    Calm Down! ~ It's just a "job"......

"Jay is our quarterback......we won 4 games with Jay as our quarterback........next question......."

You know what I think I'm beginning to see.....a team that just sees this "game" as merely their "job".

It's what they do. It's ENTERTAINMENT. And Win or Lose, they have done their "job"......whether they left you Cheering ~ or absolutely PISSED OFF Out Of Your Mind (which I also think they find very comical).....they have ENTERTAINED you, which means they have done there "job".
It's what they get paid for......to ENTERTAIN, every Sunday.

As for "why" I think they "find it comical".......I really believe that the FANS are waaaaaaaaaaay more passionate about this sport, then the players are. Like I said.....to "them"......it's a freakin' JOB ~ that's all.
There's no "rivalry" between the players themselves. They're all PROFESSIONALS....paid to also maintain an IMAGE. The IMAGE of some ridiculous "rivalry" between teams.
A "rivalry" that most of their close friends are part of. They all went to College together. They've all played against each other for YEARS....and completely R-E-S-P-E-C-T each others talents.
A lot of them were even ON the same teams together...in the same schools.

When they're "in town" ~ They have dinner together the night before a game. They go out and probably have a few drinks together, and laugh, and discuss the "good ole days".....and their favorite professors, and "the chick that gave everyone bj's at Bobby's party that night......." yada yada....

They laugh off us fools with these petty "rivalries". To them, it's a total joke.

To us, however,......we work hard all week. We barely make enough to survive on. Miss a single day's pay ~ and your screwed and behind on your bills for weeks.....perhaps even months. But, it's Sunday! Time to drink a few Cold Ones with friends, that all share the same boat, and forget if even for just a few hours....all about life.
It's time to ROOT for our favorite team! And watch someone get there ass kicked!
Which is why it's so disappointing to us all, that work so hard, with very little else to look forward to.
Most of us would LOVE for our "team" to WIN! But, to at least SHOW UP and put up a good fight would be acceptable.
Hell....as BEARS Fans, I believe that most would welcome even"mediocre" as acceptable. (Not ME of course..... ~ I really WANT to see Blood and Guts out there!....and NOT those of our beloved BEARS! )

To the BEARS (and I would imagine MOST teams), this is just a "job".
I see it in the interviews after a game, and a BIG loss. They really don't "care" as much as we do.
Urlacher, yesterday, saying something like "yeah, well....we're still a good team. And we did some "good things" out there......."
And Pepper's saying something to the effect of "Hey.....we're the Defense. We're DOING "our job". We're holding these teams to very few points. It's not OUR job to "put numbers on the board"."

    Of course not.

It's merely their job to ENTERTAIN.

Then, take a shower....talk some Homerism Bull Shit to the media as to why we should all STILL believe.
Because as long as we all "believe"......they STILL have a job.
...and their Ferrari's, and their 3 MILLION DOLLAR HOMES in Lake Forrest, and women falling at every opportunity to drop to their knees (LOL).

    It's just a job. That's all.

They must see the rest of us "FANS" as quite pathetic with Nothing Else Better To Do With Our Lives.

    ......... ...............

To the CHICAGO BEARS Franchise I say ....................

    I would agree 100%...

I've quitely griped to my friends about how the NFL's "this is a buisness" approach has done more to sour the game, than anything...

this is a game, it needs to be played like a game, and I'm sorry but at some point someone needs to say "shareholders dont make this a sport, FANS make this a sport...

and teams to need to cater what the fans want, and not the god damn shareholders...

SO GZ, why ever fire any player coach Gm or Owner?

I mean since all teams like this and all the players want is their ferrari's and women, and none care about rivalries-its not changing with any other coach player or owner is it?.. I mean you can't go back in a time machine to the 1940's..and its what happens in the NFL today..

So what exactly do you want? and if so disillusioned, why get so fustrated and angry, if this is how you feel, and obviously that isn't changing with any player or coach-as this is just the culture.. Seems best thing is to just to move on. I stopped watching bsketball for the most part because became dissillusioned for my own reason's and honestly don't miss it and feel much better not wasting time on it and using my leasure time for activities that give me joy and not anger

I could not disagree with GZ more. You really think you care about winning and losing more than the players? YOu think they don't mind getting booed or beaten? No. Way.

Of course he cares more. I mean, it's evident that the effort he puts into the bears organization (by sitting on his couch watching games and drinking beer) is so much more than the players (subjecting their bodies to harm for the game).

Yeah, it's obvious he cares so much more.

To answer your question: "SO GZ, why ever fire any player coach Gm or Owner?"

How often does this happen DB?????......once every 10 years ~ when the FANS have FINALLY had enough, and are no longer showing up in the number's, and FILLING THE STANDS, like they used?

    TICKETS TICKETS TICKETS!!!!!!!

Or, when they are no longer PURCHASING the teams favorite apparel?

    JERSEYS JERSEYS JERSEYS!!!!!!!

When the OWNERS/SHAREHOLDERS are no longer seeing what they want:

    MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

When they FINALLY "claim" to start FIRING People for a shitty job/poor performances????

    Like then?

As for your second question: "So what exactly do you want? and if so disillusioned, why get so fustrated and angry, if this is how you feel...."

I think, especially you, have noticed how I don't jump right on line, after a ridiculous loss, anymore.
I give 'em hell for a day or two.....and then let it go, and am back by Sunday again.

I'm no where even NEAR to how "frustrated and angry" I used to get.

It really IS quite silly. I don't think THEY give a rats ass how mad you (or I) am over their performance....or Lack OF.

    It's just a "job".

Oh.....I think they LIKE to win......but's it's not the Be ALL/End ALL of their existence.

No......I think, at the end of the day, when they get into those Ferarri's, and drive home to their MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR homes, and knowing that even though their performance SUCKED ~ they STILL have a job tomorrow......they really don't "mind" you ~ or I ~ booing at them at all!!!!!

    Would You? ..... ............

They're laughing all the way to the bank.

IDK, I won’t go to extremes, but I think there is some truth to what GZ is saying…it’s like your loved one is having surgery…who do to you think cares more about the outcome, you or the Doctor (the professional)?…oh, sure, the doctor cares, but it’s at professional level, not a personal one…nobody wants to lose a game, just like no doctor wants a patient to die, but if it happens oh, well, shit happens…on and off the field, it’s just a business to most of these guys…for fans, its a whole different level, a level that imo more and more players can't relate to...

Reductio ad absurdum...it's how we roll...

We only won 3 games with jay as our qb. The 4th win was with someone that should have never been on the field ever again.

    GZ.

PLEASE EXPLAIN how a new owner changes the "tickets tickets jersies jerseis" equation- thanks! are you saying a new owner will turn the bears into a "non-profit" charity and not care about money, ticket sells or merchandise?. really?

please explain what would be different with any new owner, coach or player if the below is what you beleive

don't think THEY give a rats ass how mad you (or I) am over their performance....or Lack OF.

    It's just a "job".
Seems since just a "job" to the players, coaches and owners.. not changing if have a different players/coaches and owners, the names may change but not the 'not giving a rat's ass and just a job" is it?

No......I think, at the end of the day, when they get into those Ferarri's, and drive home to their MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR homes, and knowing that even though their performance SUCKED ~ they STILL have a job tomorrow......they really don't "mind" you ~ or I ~ booing at them at all!!!!!
So then new players and coaches still going to their homes and have a job- nothing ahs changed has it

not following at all what you want
