I get the Hype and Homerism....really

However.....how many times do you allow your child to get it's ass handed to him?

I understand the NEED to "believe" in yourselves. I understand all the pre-game hype throughout the week...and just before the game.
I understand a good coach instilling confidence in his players.

But, at some point, you have to know when to tell them that they are NOT that good.

After all.....if you just keep telling them "how good" they are, and then send them out into battle....only to watch them once again get their asses handed to them by what they've been led to believe is a lesser opponent....it's only going to serve to deflate their attitude, and egos.

If you're not going to give them the weapons they need to get the job done, then you have to know WHEN to tell them that they are NOT "good enough".
Because, if they already believe that they ARE good enough....then how are they going to get any better????

The hardest person to "teach"......is the person that already thinks they "know it all".

How are you going to LEARN anything....when you already "know it all"???

STOP TELLING THESE GUYS HOW "GOOD" THEY ARE! ~ THEY SUCK!!!!

AND THEY NEED TO KNOW IT!

Because, until they DO......they're never going to LEARN how to FIX IT.

It's SO apparent by them walking around, week after week, saying "I don't KNOW what's wrong! ...... we WORK so hard at fixing things .... we had a great training camp this week.....we really "thought" we were ready for them.....we're a better football team then that......."

WRONG! ...... YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE. YOU ARE NOT BETTER THEN YOU "THINK" YOU ARE!!!
.... and "lesser" teams are proving it every Sunday.

WHY? ....... because they KNOW something that the BEARS don't seem to know.
They too SUCK. And once they KNOW that can they only begin to FIX that.

STOP TELLING THESE GUYS HOW "GOOD" THEY ARE. THEY ARE NOT.

AND THEY NEED TO KNOW IT.

    .....

Who is it you are telling this to? the coaches? Can you link to where the coaches are telling the players how good they are?

to us? Seriously, our children??? Time to not place so much on this team. They are not your kids, they are a team to be a fan of. Frustrating, absolutely, but these are professional atheletes, not your children. Telling them they suck is not only not true, it does not get them to not suck.

Things about the games we have lost, our drafts, our players, our team, do suck. The players do not. They play a game that is at the highest level of competition that our society has. I doubt very seriously, that any of us that have never risen to this level can even comprehend what it takes to play this game at that level. As professionals, I doubt very seriously that they put any stock at all in what we think here or what any fans think. They are driven to be the best at what they do every day or they would not be playing at this level.

I sometimes laugh when I think I know what they should do, or what I would do. Are the Bears a great team?? I think they definitely could be, but they clearly are not. It is not because they suck, it is because they need to improve. Improve GREATLY indeed.

In any part of that ~ did I say they they were MY children?........I really can't find that. (it was a metaphor)

"Can you link to where the coaches are telling the players how good they are?" ........ guess you don't listen to the post game interviews. They sure spend a awful lot of time ramming it down OUR throats.
You don't think they do the same in the locker room????
It seems pretty apparent to me.
They have absolutely NO CLUE "why" they're losing.

"As professionals, I doubt very seriously that they put any stock at all in what we think here or what any fans think." ..... THAT I completely agree with.

"They are driven to be the best at what they do every day or they would not be playing at this level." ..... that I agree with somewhat. I think they WERE "driven to be the best at what they do every day"........until MILLIONS were laid at their feet and they achieved the Golden Challis.
Something about that strips "the hunger" just a bit.

    This TEAM STINKS.
    And they AREN'T getting better.

    Could they? ....... absolutely.
...if they had a captain at the helm that could guide them through the storm. They don't.
Every week they just look more and more lost.

Metaphor or not, treating professional atheletes like children is what you were saying. I just thought that was not going to work.

What they say in the press room is probably not what goes on in the locker room. In fact, I would be willing to bet that NONE of what you see in front of a microphone accurately represents anything close to reality. Seriously.

It is not true that they are not getting better. In fact, they moved the ball incredibly well in the second half yesterday. They adjusted to the D the Skins brought and really marched up and down the field with both rushes (albeit a few) and passing. The problem yesterday was not the problem against the Giants which was not the problem against the Seahags.

If you wanted to nail down one problem and call it that, it is inconsistancy. But it is a different problem in every loss. they adjusted and improved the run when everyone was saying that we needed to, they improved the blocking and the scheme in the second half yesterday and against Dallas. If you are not seeing the improvement, then you are not paying attention and just letting your frustration get to you.

I understand that. I am frustrated too. But this team does not stink. They are horribly inconsistant, and they have some holes that they despartely need to shore up, but I do not believe it is accurate to say they stink.

Let's say, I consede this point and we agree that they stink. Then it should not surprise us when they lose the majority of the games coming up. If you expect that, then fine, no need to keep harping on it. If the team stinks, there is no way to get better this year and we are done. Let's just enjoy the rest of the season and see if they in fact do improve something. I see a tin of growth on the Oline, they just are not there at all yet, but there are some signs of hope.

If Louis stays in a RG and Garza returns to LG, and CW goes back to LT and OMG goes back to RT, or whatever they do with them, I can see some good times ahead, even if most don't. That would be the starting O line and they just might have grown enough to be effective.
