I am still on Martz bandwagon, albeit, it is a little thinner on the crowd up here. The second half Sunday showed me the offense still has the ability to adjust. They just steam rolled them in the second half, and if we hold on to the ball, that game is not even close. We would have killed them. Should have one with a challenge, would have just destroyed them if we do not turn the ball over.

Martz is on the bubble in my opinion. It is painfully obvious that he does NOT have the personal required to run HIS offense effectively. Therefore, he should adjust. His playbook should fit the players, not the other way around...

agreed, and that is what makes it fustrating can't give away wins like that.. 5-2 today such a diferent conversation than 4-3
, esp when had it 3 different times for the lead or extending the lead. we are not good enough to throw away W"s like that,, but what sucks is the perception now we are a bad team and we are not

I'm sorry, but all the "woulda, coulda, shoulda's" don't mean jack crap.
This isn't Rocket Science.....
FACT: If you can't BEAT the WORST.......you ARE the Worst. PERIOD.
.... and I mean KICK THE LIVING DOG SH*T OUT OF 'EM .....not just SQUEAK by. ESPECIALLY AT HOME!!!
It's the same OLD Bears Mantra every fkin' year..... " We just gotta Find A Way To Win....."
Oh, and a few more flashy ones to add:
~ "One City - One Team"
~ "UNFINISHED"
~ "We're CLOSE"
They can Knock of the "salesman" crap already......1/2 of this team absolutely STINKS - and nobody's buying it.
(.... oh, and incidentally ~ it's the 1/2 that needs to be PUTTING POINTS ON THE FKIN' BOARD!!!)

So since the Giants allowed the crappy dallas to score 35 and not kick the crap out of the last place Cowb0ys, nbarely winning 21-17 in 4th to detriot at home.. they suck also right?
Since the saints almost lost to the last place panthers at hime and DID LOSE to the browns at home, we know they suck in 2010 right, by GZ standards?
the eagles almost lost to the lions and did lose to the redskins and titans so they are out by "GZ standards"
Altanta couldnt put away the last place niners and got trounced by the eagles so they suck by "gz standards'
The packers barely beat the lions by 2 at home lost to bears, dolphins and redskins, so they suck by GZ standards
So guess that means bears right in the thick of the NFC with GZ standards.. : )

To be honest, we should be 6-1 right now or 7-0...There was no excuse on why we should not have adjusted to the Giants defense (LIKE WE DID THE COWBYS) and beat the Giants!!! When the defense can keep us in the game, then Martz and Cutler need to capitalize on that, adjust the plays and put points on the board!!! This is just so frustrating, because I believe my team can go to the playoffs and maybe even get to the superbowl!!!

Even though at 1/2 time only 3-0 and sure in that game.. I'll disagree with cutler out we had a chance, collins was/is horrid as he showed the following week.. so think that's an "L" the second jay went out- but understand your point.

Sorry, the perception is justified. You have to validate how good you are with wins. The Bears laid an egg two straight weeks, and at home which adds insult to injury.
Care to have some fun? Without looking at the stats I'd bet (using the word bet metaphorically) that in the Bears wins this year the pass/run ratio has been 65:35 or lower (we already know about the Panthers game), and was 66:34 or higher in the three losses. If I'm correct then the pass/run ratio should never exceed 65:35 no matter how bad the opponents's pass defense is.
Edit: Well, I would have lost that bet. In two of the three games the pass/run ratio was 65:35 or lower, but not the Dallas game. Here's the pass/run ratio for games 1-3...
35/31 (Detroit - home)
51/20 (Dallas - road)
27/18 (Green Bay - home)

Martz confident resilient quarterback will bounce back
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Before leaving Soldier Field Sunday following the Bears’ disappointing loss to the Redskins, offensive coordinator Mike Martz spoke at length with quarterback Jay Cutler.
After throwing only three interceptions in his first five starts this season, Cutler was picked off four times—all by cornerback DeAngelo Hall—and lost a fumble at the goal line in the second half.
I did talk to him a great deal after the game,” Martz said Monday night on Chicago Bears Network’s Bears Insider radio show on WBBM-AM 780.
“I just talked to him about the play of the game and some of the things that we need to do to recover from that. A game like that’s very difficult for a quarterback to deal with obviously.
"He’s a very strong guy. There are some things that we need to correct and fix. He’ll get that done. He’ll respond. He’s a tough guy. He’s competitive, and he’s certainly the guy that we want here. We all trust and believe in him, and he’ll get it done."
Martz said the Bears felt good about attacking Hall, especially with comeback routes, because the veteran cornerback typically plays soft coverage, guarding against the deep ball.
“What we saw him do a great deal of [Sunday] is just guess, just flat guess,” Martz said. “Had we had a deep route, we’d have gone by him. On one of the picks, he just sat there. He didn’t back up on Devin [Hester]. Normally he’s off. He jumped it. He guessed on it and he guessed right.”
The one play that probably hurt the Bears most was Cutler’s quarterback sneak on first-and-goal from the 1. He extended the ball toward the goal line, but was shoved back by 6-6, 335-pound defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who had leaped over center Olin Kreutz and left guard Chris Williams.
Cutler fumbled on the play, and the Redskins recovered at the 1.
“[Haynesworth] made a great play coming over the top and hitting the quarterback,” Martz said. “That’s probably something we didn’t account for, him being able to do that. We were doubling him with the center and the guard and he came over both of them to hit the quarterback.
“The center was uncovered, so we were going to push that edge there and try to cut this guy off. The ‘backers were apart and we felt real good about just being able to get forward and get the ball in the end zone there, and he just made a remarkable play really.”
With the turnover, the Bears are now 0-of-10 from their opponents’ one-yard line this season.
“We’ve had some personnel changes in there and that’s significant at the point of attack where you lose some guys that you [practiced] all this stuff in such a critical area,” Martz said. “But we’ve reduced what we do down there significantly to the point where there are just two or three runs really.
“Everybody has a different theme in terms of what they do at the goal line [defensively]. Some of them are an odd front and some are even, so you have to be careful about what you’re using that week.”
Martz revealed that Chester Taylor will be utilized in goal-line situations. Taylor has failed on one rush from the 1, while fellow running back Matt Forte is 0-of-6.
“Chester is a great goal-line and short-yardage runner,” Martz said. “He’s a low, powerful back and he’s the guy that we’ll use for that.”
While the Bears offense mustered just 25 yards and one first down on its first six possessions against the Redskins, the unit produced 259 yards and 16 first downs on its next five drives.
“There are some good things that did come out of that game,” Martz said. “[Right tackle] J’Marcus Webb was really outstanding. He made a quantum leap. Olin [Kreutz] has always played well. [Left tackle] Frank [Omiyale] played exceptionally well. So we saw a significant improvement in the offensive line, which will continue to allow us to do the things that we need to do.”

I thought we were a 10 win team including wins against Seattle and Wash, 2 teams that clearly have less talent then the Bears, and both were at home. I think the 10 win mark has now dropped to 8 or 9 because of it, they will have to pull some upsets now to get there even. 8 or 9 wins could win the NFC North, I don't see the packers or vikings getting there.
