If the DEFENSE has to carry this team then there is no team.
This is basically how I feel also.
And it's why I say this TEAM STINKS......because, unfortunately it take 3 ingredients to make a "TEAM" ~ Offense, SP's, and Defense.
I really have no gripe with the later two....but the Offense is god awful. And they bring down the efforts of the entire TEAM.
That's what I mean when I generalize "this TEAM STINKS"....but it really pertains to the Offense themselves.
...... suppose I shouldn't be so "general". But, whatever.
I should just say "this offense stinks".....but, "this team stinks" is less to type. LOL!!!!

Ok DB, I am going to help you with your poor reading skills and highlight points of my post and try to make more clear for you to understand.
This part of my post discusses my opinion on the defense not being that great because of playing some poor teams that offset the stats a bit. Playing the lions and panthers which are very bad teams makes our defensive stats look better. The lions and panthers 3rd down conversions were very bad against us and factoring those 2 games brings the average down.
What did seattle, Greenbay and Dallas do to us on 3rd down? They did a good job tearing up the bears secondary and defense without legit runningbacks. The packers played us without ryan grant who always seems to break a long run against us in every game. Marrion Barber and felix Jones are not tearing up the league and Marshan Lynch is not what I call a great back. As for my Mike Williams comment I see you ignored that portion of my post because you know I am right about him. What games was I watching, I was watching Mike Williams have a career game against the bears. How many catches did Mike Williams have against the bears?
In this section of my post I listed examples of the two best offensive teams we have played were both were not having their best games yet still did well vs our defense. The ending portion is just an opinion where I felt we will probably have some tough games when facing better offensive teams.
As for the intent of my post I did not slam the bears, I gave an opinion and backed up my opinion with examples yet your poor reading skills gives you the false idea that I slammed the bears defense and you had to make a smartass remark about I should give the bears credit when it is due.
you DO NOT lead the league in third down conversions If "getting torn up on 3rd downs"
End of story, sorry
and no "seattle, Greenbay and Dallas " did not teat us up on third down, that's your "opinion" vs the reality. sorry .. and your 'excuses' of players just makes no sense..and not that will hit home to you, but mike williams ahving a great game against bears has NOTHING to do with third down conversions
you gave an 'opinion",, and i gave you back the FACTS AND STATS that dispute your opinion( bears the best against 3rd downs). has nothing to do with reading skills( why when you are wrong do you need to do insults i'll never know)

Very true DB! It will be interesting to see how this team comes out of the off week. We have yet to see the explosive offense that was talked about in the off season. The D has been stellar, and while we do have the tough part of our schedule left, I think the D will still be in the top 5 when it's all said and done.
IF and obviously that's a big if, the O can turn things around and be what they kept talking about in the off season, then we can win the divison! We just can't keep turning the ball over and expecting the D to hold. The O needs to be able to put points on the board while attempting to balance things out. If that balance is shorter passes instead of runs, then fine, but they need to do something to start scoring.
Defense keep doing what your doing!
BEARDOWN

When you play bad teams it OFFSETS stats. I know this because I mentioned it in my original post yet your inability to read those particular words is the point I am trying to drive through your thick skull. All you do is focus on a few words and ignore the entire post just so you can google the 3rd down stats and say we are leading the league right now. Playing teams that have Shawn Hill and Jimmy Clausen at starting qb will help make the bears defense look better. When you play teams that have a legit qb like Aaron Rodgers or Tony Romo our 3rd down conversion got tore up. Just like the seattle game hasselbeck carved up our secondary and mike williams was a reason their 3rd down conversions were solid.
As for stats, you are the king of googling them and you could have left your reply at that but no, you had to make personal reference towards me about watching the game or bashing the bears and not giving them credit. Even when I listed my reasons for my post it was not good enough for you and you had to make a smartass remark.
All teams play good and bad teams..all teams play bad teams that ahve good days and bad teams that have good days, at the end of the day, searching for "excuses' to justifying putting a team down or their good stats , imo just that 'excuses" and if a team is #1 at something they are #1 at something.. same for Wins, a win is a win and a "L" is a "L".. and no amount of you trying to make it personal or continue with the insults 4th will change my mind about it, sorry. try falling someoen else, please , thank you. Will be my last reponse, because as usual can see what you are trying to do and not falling for it.
