Plus domes are generally louder, as I stated earlier. Cowboys stadium was pretty nice, and when you have road fans like the Bears, you can definiately tell it. The only other game I've been at was the 08 Bears/Texans game, and they had the stadium open. Rather mundane compared to the Cowboys closed dome experience. Butka does make a good point about the cold weather factor, but I'm not buying that the game would've been harder for the skins from a fans standpoint if it was colder..

So, I say a little of both. A retractable dome.

This way we can take advantage of the weather and pick and chose what we play in.

For example, Atlanta or New Orleans or other warm weather cities, make them play in the snow.

If it is really windy, which would hurt our offense, close the dome.

If we get a dome, we will get a Super Bowl here for sure.

Didn't NY get a SB and its open air? its cold in NY in Feb.

Regardless, the "cold field advantage" aspect of soldier field is a total myth...I don't think we play florida teams with regularity at home in december.
