this man has no clue what the F*** he's doing. . .
I'm sorry for giving him the Benefit of the doubt.
Word latley is that Cowher's #1 choice of team when/if he comes back is Chicago depending on how things play out....
Dear god,
Please, Please, PLEASE!!!!! let us land Bill Cowher.
FIRE LOVIE SMITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIKE... NOW!!!!!!!
However, we all know how sneaky those Bears can be, so, Bear with me...!!! What if the QB depth situation is a RUSE to draw future opponents into a false sense of security...?!?

Hanie must have mistakenly wore his "Fire Lovie" t-shirt to practice.

what bothers me, though, besides the ineptitude of our coaching staff, is that we are going to have to wait for Jay Cutler and the rest of the crew to learn a new offense once again. I'm all for firing Lovie, but it puts us in the waiting to be good game once again.

I realize that Lovie Smith is a man of high moral character and is cut, in that way, from the same cloth as Tony Dungy. That being said, the only reason he is having any success as well as his one major flaw this season is because of the assistant coaches on his staff. Dave Toub is the best special teams coach in the business, period. Rod Marinelli is coaching up this defense that looks NOTHING like it did last season; it, in fact, is the reason we are still in the championship hunt right now. Then you have Mike Martz. Mike Martz runs a Chinese offensive set-up that borders on maddening and doesn't emphasize the run. For all of Lovie's strengths coming from his coaches, his biggest drawback is allowing his former boss to grab him by his balls on offense and run an offense that goes against everything the Bears are set up to handle.

The Bears have had issues with evaluating and utilizing those in the QB position for decades. Lets just pick one out of the hat:
Chad Hutchinson: Hutchinson was part of a highly-publicized quarterback controversy with the Cowboys, when he and Quincy Carter competed for a roster spot in a Cowboys-themed documentary on HBO. Prior to the 2004 season, the Cowboys signed Vinny Testaverde and acquired Drew Henson, creating yet another quarterback controversy. Hutchinson was released on July 27, 2004, ostensibly in favor of Carter; however, when Carter was released under unclear circumstances, Testaverde was named the starter.
Hutchinson was signed as a backup by the Chicago Bears mid-season, and started several games after Rex Grossman suffered a season-ending injury. Hutchinson had been named as the starter for the 2005 season after Grossman suffered a severe ankle injury during the preseason, but was replaced in favor of rookie Kyle Orton after several poor preseason performances. Following his demotion, he was released on August 31st, 2005. The Bears would opt to sign Jeff Blake to be a backup behind Kyle Orton instead.
So, I ask: IS THIS REALLY A SURPRISE...!!!
We pretty much lucked out with Cutler, so far. This should have not been much of a surprise. As a matter of fact, it should have been expected. But, WE let our guard down. This is the exact thought process that breeds cynical Bear fans. It is nothing new, we have been living this nightmare for decades...

I keep having these thoughts of grandeur every time I watch the DVD of the 1985 Bears Super Bowl Championship Season. I keep thinking that it will happen again someday. It nearly did in 2006, but my, how things have changed!
