I don't know how much of reading between the lines it takes to know Marten and Asiata were not starting OL despite the fluff machine. It's insulting to a point as a fan to be fed the same drivel time after time. With that said I do see incremental progress but very incremental.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I am not saying that this line is good or getting a whole lot better either. Jus tthat I don't think Tice was saying that he thought this line was great in OTA's and now he is amazed at how bad they are.
I don't mind being fed the drivel, because I don't believe you will EVER see someone come out and say;
"HOLY SCHNIKEY'S, WE SUCK, and you need to alter your expectations of how we are going to perform this year. I would say by week 10, we ought to know if we are NFL caliber or not, before that.... we are going to experience a lot of growing pains!!"
If that is the refreshing breeze of honesty you are hoping for, get used to dissappointment. Every coach, from every team, when speaking to ANY member of the media or in public for any reason, is going to give you the BEST CASE SCENARIO. What I find funny, is the Chicago fans perpetual need to have a coach that rants and raves and says MAN WE SUCK!!
I am not waiting for that. We all knew that this O line was going to take time, I am pleased we are above .500, with a chance to be 5-3 at half way point.
If we go 6-3 to end the year, we are 10-6. I am OK with that. They should get better with time. I am not expecting a Superbowl this year.
I would LOVE that, but I do not expect it.

What you have shown is a conversation on how they are picking up the Offensive scheme. That was from when they were installing the offense. I see no contradiction there.
I'd like to point out that comment was (as I dated) from July 16th. Well after OTAs. I could pull out some comments from August where Tice praises Beekman if you'd like.

Well maybe if they had used the practice games known as pre season to test these guys and try and run a portion of the offense instead of trying to hide the O until the regular season, they would have found out that these guys were garbage once the pads came on.
JNastorer, I agree it's what I expect a coach to say; and I expect the media and fanbase to blast the shit out of him for being so horribly wrong. It's a double edged sword making those statements after OTA's, and then having a line this bad; ecspeically when everyone and their newborn baby sister who knew that OL was going to suck.
