If you go by pure ability of MLB, I would have listed Dick Butkus ahead of LT. Apparently, LT's propensity for flash because he sacked the quarterbacks of his day a lot AND his playing on championship teams must have been what made the difference between LT being the greatest MLB over Butkus. Still, the Bears were well-represented in the top 100, though there were some omissions that I will address later on.
LT was an outside linebacker, not a middle linebacker.

I don't have a problem with Rice, Brown and Montana ahead of Payton, but I do have a problem with LT being ranked higher. Butkus is the best defensive player of all-time. Bears left tackle Jim Covert neutralized LT.

Another reason why Covert should be in HOF. He didn't just neutralized LT he erased him from the field completely.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Re-read what I said bud. I said he was listed as the best RB.

    Brown is listed as FB.

I know, semantics, just sayin :)

First of all, the top ten players should all be Chicago Bears because I said so.

LT over Butkus? Maybe the guy who wrote this also does coke off dead hookers asses. LT over Butkus? No.

    Where is Cade?

BTW, Payton should be number one because of all the different things he did. From Punting, passing, running, blocking, returning, heart, to wearing a headband perfectly, nobody did it better.

    I shit on this list.

I liked him on goal line situations where he jumped over the pile or carried the pile into the endzone. I also liked it when he would have a linebacker on his back and he would still be running over anybody that got in his way. Lets not forget he didn't run out of bounds but instead stiff armed the shit out of anybody that was infront of him. hehehe.

Only reason they put LT ahead of Payton is because they didnt want the top 5 to be all Offensive players, so they had to put a defensive player in there, just to even it out a bit, so LT gets the nod as the "best" defensive player.

Other then that, i can agree with their top picks, though i would go Rice, Montana, Payton, Brown, LT...but i think Payton and Brown are to close to call, i wouldnt be opposed to them being switched, but i have to put Payton ahead of Brown, being a Bears fan and all.
