3 Bears: Moore hot; Cutler cold; Omiyale right

    November 6, 2010 11:05 PM
    By Brad Biggs

    Too hot: D.J. Moore

The cornerback would have had two interceptions returned for touchdowns in the last game against the Redskins if a delay-of-game penalty wouldn't have wiped out the second snatch-and-score. Moore is exactly what the Bears envisioned when they selected him in the fourth round in 2009 -- a playmaker. He's got a nose for the ball and although he's undersized, he's street tough and doesn't back down. The development of Moore has been one of the real pleasant surprises, and projecting him into the future, you have to think he could be considered as a starter down the road.

    Too cold: Jay Cutler

Reminiscent of some games last season that he literally threw away with interceptions, Cutler cost the Bears dearly with four interceptions in the second half against the Redskins. He's entering a critical stretch that could define how he's perceived in the NFL. What do they say about perception? It's often reality. Cutler hasn't had a winning season. Now is his opportunity to take a strong leadership role and guide the Bears on a second-half run. If he succeeds, he'll quiet many critics. If he fails, he'll struggle warding off the Jeff George comparisons.

    Just right: Frank Omiyale

For as much anxiety as there has been about the offensive line -- and most of it has been warranted -- the Bears just may have a left tackle they will not have to worry about. The expectation is it would be former first-round pick Chris Williams, but Frank Omiyale is getting more comfortable there by the week. Before he's anointed the left tackle of the future, he needs to finish the season and get a better body of work to evaluate. But it's fair to say he's passing the eye test. He might not be Pro Bowl bound, but the Bears will settle for steady right now.

DJ Moore has been playing awesome all season. He's made the D standout on many occasions on his own. I look forward to him continuing to play at a high level and forcing some more pics!

DJ is way better then I expected him to be. Now get Major Wright going and we have a nice young duo back there.

Yea gamma you are exactly right omiyale is a bum and williams needs to be some other place than on the inside because again he was getting blown up early in the game, he is not fit to play against the bull rushers inside. Also yes D.J Moore is exciting to watch almost had 2 pics again today. And please ppl , and "experts" plz plz plz shut your mouth about Jay , any QB would be cold working w/ our offensive " talent " !!! But Jay had a great game today even tho he was running for his life every drop back it seemed , but i think he ended up with the most rushing yrds for our team ;{)

He played alot better ......... but he STILL threw 2 really dumb passes today that shoulda resulted in picks, throwing into double + triple coverage. It's just dumb... and until he stops doing this, he'll never become the quarterback that he could become. Eliminate this, and u have a dangerous QB . Right now , he's dangerous both ways; to opponents ----- and to his own team.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Oh I'm sorry Grizzly. Did my "bashing" of Omiyale offend you? Oh let me proceed to give a damn...

He was one of the reasons why the Bears were stalling on drives because of his STUPID PENALTIES.
