Charles Tillman is Struggling

3. Charles Tillman is struggling: I've always admired Tillman's toughness and productivity over the years, but it's been tough to overlook his struggles at cornerback the past few weeks. The veteran is still causing turnovers -- he forced and recovered a fumble against the Bills -- but Tillman is routinely allowing opposing receivers to catch the football, often for first downs. Perhaps the rotation at cornerback should continue when Zack Bowman returns from a foot injury, but instead of Bowman periodically spelling Tim Jennings, maybe he should give Tillman a few series off. Can it hurt?

Mike Williams beats him for 10 catches and 123 yards.

Steven Johnson [11/145] and Roscoe Parrish [7/60/1TD] beat him consistently for 1st downs.

I've noticed him slipping around out there so much this season, instead of planting and driving he's ice skating out there.

He was getting picked on yesterday like a rookie.

I do not know what we are going to do because the secondary was not even close to the guys they were covering. I did not see Ryan Fitzpatrick make a single difficult throw, he hit his back foot and threw an easy completetion.

He was on fire end of the first half, his foot hit and he was throwing lasers to spots.

That's what I thought our offense was predicated on. Hit your steps and fire to a spot and up to WR to be there, but still seeing backpeddling and waiting for WR to come out of his break.

Take a note from Fitzpatrick because that 2 min drill was impressive.

allot of DBs dont look good anymore. Something people dont consider is how physical of a DB Tillman is. The NFL rules have killed those kinds of DBs. How many DBs really wow you anymore?

Tillman has certainly not looked great over the last few weeks. The thing that bothers me with him is the stupid penalties he makes and when he makes them. Like the late hit yesterday. He's done that a few times in his career and it always worked in the opponents favor. We are playing way to much cover 2. Were not intercepting passes unless they are tipped balls. We need to be at least attempting to jump a route here and there to try to score on D. Up until this week, I had liked what Rod Marinelli was doing, but not after getting torched through the air by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Tillman needs to step it up, and so does the rest of our pass D.

we did get beat up pretty bad defensively, but something you have to consider is Buffalo's weakness isn't it's O. it's there Defense...

Buffalo has put up good numbers against some top defenses... not just us. had we been the only ones to get torched by fitzpatrick, I'd probably agree....

but when your takin top D's to task, it's more likely you have a solid offense, and not just catching teams on off days...

I'm ok with tipped ball INTs, I didn't realize the INTs didn't count when they are tipped.

If we had more pressure on opposing qbs I think his numbers would be much better. The one thing I can say is that he is physical on his tackles and he is always trying to punch the ball out of the wrs hands. One person I did notice yesterday getting burned was Urlacher. There were a few plays where the RB ran right past him and he wiffed on the tackle.

I just think Peanut needs some new cleats.
