it just get's old. like dealing with a homer than thinks every player on the team is a pro bowler... nobody want's to deal with that day in and day out, and the same can be said for the Bashers... it's all about keeping it even, otherwise this place really does feel like the offish... and we are so.... SO much better than those freaks.
OK Grizz........I'll back off......just a bit. :-)

I have to disagree with "we ARE playing like a contender".
We're playing like "a contender" against those team that shouldn't even BE "contenders".
What happens when we actually DO start playing against REAL Contenders?
THAT'S been my only bitch. I think, these teams that we've been playing...we should have been Man Handling.....not barely squeaking through.
As for the 2006 season.....YES, even I was "one of those" that were bitching from their 2nd half on. But certainly NOT the 1st half. I think REX was amazing in the first half of that season. Then, after the bye....something happened. And Rex became WRECKS every other Sunday.
I think, in all, we all expected much higher caliber of play this season. In part because we were all told there WOULD be.
Enter the saviours:
- Mike Martz
- Mike Tice
Promising all of BEARS Nation how much better we're gonna be because their now here to save the day.
This did not happen......not even close. In fact, in many respects we're actually looking at a worse product then we had on the field last year.
So, of course.....there are going to be those that will hold their feet to the flames.
We all believed this crap.....and were delivered horse shit.
Instead, we got a very confused, under talented, random inconsistent line, that, if not for the Defense once again, would be burying us in losses.
And THAT'S against what's suppose to be the worst teams out there, and the easiest part of our schedule.
Now comes the second half.......
Which, actually, in all likelyness.....is NOT looking quite as scary as it did at the beginning of the season because, for some strange phenomenon.....they're all doing poorly.
Personally, I'm not so afraid of ANY of the teams that are left on our schedule. Maybe Eagles/Patriots.
But the Vikings are rapidly falling apart @ 2-5
The Dolphins are @ 4-3 aren't all THAT scary.
The LIONS .... are the LIONS @ 2-5. And, although are getting very noticably better, still haven't figured out how to close the deal.
The Jets @ 5-2 .... very respectable, but seem to be falling into their same old paradigm. Let's hope they keep falling. :-)
The Packers @ 6-3 are a very serious concern, especially @ Lamblow. But, our Defense always seem to figure a way around them.
So, that leaves the Eagles @ 4-3 (at Soldier Field), and the Patriots @ 6-1 (at Soldier Field) ~ both can be very scary....especially in the second half of dam near every season.
So, yes......we DO have a great chance to excel in a very mediocre league right now. (Although, I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that the Packers and Patriots are playing "mediocre".)
But, in years past......this level of performance (or rather LACK of) would certainly NOT have flown.
And it hasn't.
But, this year......it just might fly.

I am mainly tick off about how the bears each year start out good and decline. No excuse for having the most sacks and QB getting hit in the NFL. They are winning. Good I am glad they are getting by, but for how long. We are about to play some defenses that are in the top half of the league and it scares me that Jay is gonna get his head knocked off or worse. I would love to see Tice turn the o-line around and they all be Pro Bowlers but or at least preform to that level, but it ain't gonna happen. I ain't gonna pick apart everything that is wrong, because that is boring and over done. Am I happy the won you bet. I am not happy how they won. They can do better.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!
I am here to chew bubble gum and kick butt and I am all out of bubble gum!

Like most here, I've watched evry game the Bears have played this year. I was unsure what our team would be this year due to a few issues. The OL has looked like the worst OL in NFL history at times. Martz has looked unwilling to adapt his offense to something less than 90% pass with 90% 7 step drops.
But I've also seen the Bears show some really good things. The D has played great most the year. Hester is once again a threat any time someone kicks to him.
The Bills game looked like a solid outing. But I don't know what to think of the Bills. They are the only winless team in the NFL, but prior to the Bears winning by 3 points the Bills took BAL, and KC to over time. Two teams everyone considers as solid, most likely play off teams this year.
So I don't see the point of being down on any win, or over hyping any win. At this point of the season the Bears are 5-3. They are still in the hunt for the play offs. If they get in anything can happen. The OL looked like it may have improved with the addition of a healthy Garza. Maybe they do something about C. Williams waste of a spot and this OL could be workable.
The hopes of this seaon lie in Martz keeping his game plan more close to balanced than in the past and the OL not sucking, like in the past. This week is a big division game. The Vikings are not that good this year, but they will be ready.
Debate is one thing. Losing love for your country is another.

I agree irish.
I guess it's the WAY they've won and lost that burns me. That Giants game was a helluva very embarrassing ass kickin'.
The LIONS game, though a WIN.....wasn't much different. The Cowboys and Green Bay were bonafied wins in my opinion.
Raiders and Seahawks, back to back @ home were really hard to swallow.
So, I guess I'm personally really on their case because I expected so much more from this team this year. And it never really came.
yet.
I hope that BILLS game fired them up and we rape the Viqueens BIG TIME! ...... :-)

I'm just sick of not at least getting into the playoffs. Hell, the last we were in was the year we went to the Super Bowl. We shot our wad in 2008, and you could just forget 2007 and '09. I think that this team has a realistic chance to win a bunch of games this year, albeit in a close and sometimes dramatic fashion. We should be able to beat the Lions, and I think that the two games against the Vikings are winnable. The Jan. 2 game against the Packers is winnable, too. Even New England and the Jets have proven to be human this season, so those games are very much winnable. The game I am most on edge about is the one against the Eagles, but it's being played at Soldier Field, so you never know what may happen; "Papa Bear" may call up some bad weather to welcome the Eagles from Heaven.

Yeah.....I agree for the most part Dagen, with exception to the Eagles game. That one doesn't really scare me as much as the Packers @ Lamblow.
The Pack have been really pouring-it-on BIG TIME....even with so many injuries. They really have stepped up.
And Clay Mathews is just freakin' scary! Maybe the scariest player I have seen this year....and in quite some time. I wish that guy was a BEAR. When he comes across that line he's like watching a Bobcat trying to claw it's way out of a phone booth. LOL!!!
Seriously! The guy's freakin' scary! I would NOT want to have to be defending against him.
But, other then that.....you're right. Everybody has pretty much proven themselves human this season. :-)
