Then I guess we bench Johnny Knox for tipping the ball that led to Cutler's first interception.

I hope we can really find out why Des is MIA. I can see a lot of guessing and suppositions going on, so I decided to send Desmond an email via Facebook in hope that he will let us really know. I'll get back to everybody if I get an answer back. In the meantime, send him some support at his Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/dezclark . Here's a copy of the email:
I/We/Bear fans miss you Des. You were one of the first ball players that got on line and responded to both news people and us Bears fans. I loved that you were honest and candid. So did you maybe piss off Martz or Lovie and end up stuck to the bench for something you said? Was it because of a missed pass weeks ago and they're being jerks about it? What's really going on? I miss you out there on the field and think someone is making a big mistake keeping you benched. There's a lot of us at DaBears.com wondering. Stay strong if they're trying to put you down Des. You have a lot of fan support.

btw, here is his handle on twitter, tightwork88

OK. I got a response from Dez on this. Here is that reply as he wrote it:
"People automatically assume that but its not true. They said I'm doing everything they ask me to do but have yet to give me an explanation for not playing me. Just that I'm doing what they are asking me to do. One day I may write a book about the whole thing and really let people in on my true feelings".
So there it is. Dez is doing everything the team is asking. So the actual "reason", as opposed to an "excuse" will have to come from the coaching staff.

Manumaleuna (sp?) is a little bit big to be playing the FB/TE position for the Bears, or any position in the National Football League. While I think that Greg Olsen is going to be an All-Pro someday, Desmond Clark was a hell of a ball player. I had heard somewhere prior to this season that he almost got cut during Training Camp, so maybe the Bears think he has lost a step or two.
He dropped that TD pass that would've put away the Pack and has been in the doghouse every since.
And why does noone bring that up when they talk about how the Packers "beat themselves"? Last I check, Des dropped a TD and Gould missed a FG in that game. And the Bears STILL won.
I don't want to see Manu but I suppose since he actually DID something last game like catch a pass Des will sit on the pine. Detroit would be a great time to use Des-get some work in and get ready for the home stretch and possibly the playoffs.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
