    I could be wrong.
The old Soldier Field, in it's initial state, did hold up around 100K. They cut off part of the facility with stands in the N. end zone in the '70's and over time, with upgrades, made it look like it was part of the original. I think it held around 63K before the remodeled and dropped the space ship inside.

I just wish they had done a better job on integrating the two. That's my only beef. I don't blame the McCaskey's for wanting to keep the Bears playing in the downtown area. I like the idea of that over playing in Schaumburg or some other area from from downtown.

I'm a sox fan, so I'm EXTREMELY Biased when it comes to the Cubs. Please take my "dig" on Wrigley for what it's worth. I like the old ball parks myself and just think that Wrigley needs some serious renovations. My sister and bro in-law had a condo in Wrigleyville at one time. I do think it's a great area and am glad it's surged in the last 15 yrs. At one time, it was not such a nice area, but the city has done a great job with it.

I'll put aside my Southside bias for a minute here and speak purely from experience and say that of the twenty or so professional sports stadiums I have been in, it is by far the biggest shit hole I have ever had the displeasure of sitting in. Hell, I've been to minor league stadiums that are nicer, and they don't smell like piss when your walking to concessions. The truth hurts, huh?

    Dont confuse "truth" with "opinion."

Yes, plenty of other Fields are modern in every way and im sure give you enjoyable experiences...assuming they can even fill them. Wrigley is awesome, and always WILL be awesome for the unique experience you get attending the games...the fans, the history (cursed as it is)...its a baseball experience in its purest form. SO hate on it all you want...doesnt change the fact that me and many other fans love Wrigley and its atmosphere.

This is the same flawed logic that prevented us from getting a good stadium for the Bears. "Purest form"? I guess if by pure you mean smelly, cluttered, falling apart and outdated.
