I'm more worried about the Iggles....Maclin and Jackson are quick and speedy and that type of WR seems to give our secondary the most trouble

I'll take a SHUTOUT of the Dolphins everytime we get it !
We owe them skanks for 85'.
I wouldnt get overconfident tho.
The O-Line proved it can get the running game going in the second half.
So thats 2 down and ZERO to go as to what an OFFENSIVE LINE is suppossed to do.
They can protect the pocket ... and make lanes for the Runnning game.
Is there anything else you want them to do ?
WEBB in the endzone as a receiver ?
Well ... ok ... I could go with that ... ; )
AND ANOTHER THING : ESPN will put us on the MAP !
We're not a fluke anymore.

I don't think the Bears have the horses to win that game against the Eagles. That being said, the ultimate strategy would have to be to force Michael Vick to pass from a pocket of some kind. We will have to make sure that there are no gaping holes created by Philly's defensive line, and at that point, we will have to use Izzy and Peppers to put maximum pressure on Vick (who, for some reason, I want to keep calling McNabb). It's one thing to force Vick to beat us simply by throwing the football; up until the Redskins dropped the ball, he was only completing 60% of his passes. It's quite another to call upon our linebackers and cornerbacks to keep in stride with him as athletic as he is. Vick is possibly one of only three quarterbacks in the history of the NFL who have had the ability to beat a team simply by his mobility and running capabilities (the other two QBs who could beat opponents with their legs were Randall Cunningham and Steve Young).

Weve smashed Vick in the past, and we can do it again.

I don't if they've improved or not, but Philly's o line was as bad as ours early on in the season. If they're still strugg-a-ling we'll get pressure, but that leaves Vick open to scramble. They have to keep him contained from getting outside..HAVE TO! I htink our offense can match up well against their defense though.

It's the OL that's making the biggest difference. I just hope it doesn't trick our GM into thinking the OL is no longer our biggest priority this offseason. Outside of Webb, they had a very solid game. CWill is getting better by the week inside, he's picking up the stunts and shifts 1000x better than he was just a few weeks ago. Olin can't get outside anymore and is clearly on his last legs, but he's holding his own. Omiyale has a few of those, "what the fuck was he doing" plays every week, but he's getting better at limiting them. Garza is phone booth blocking as well as anyone, not great, but he's playing within his limits well. As for Webb, well, he's frustrating because he always gets to his man with his feet and long arms, but his technique still needs a ton of refinement. I mean, he gets his man covered and gets in front of him or pushes him effectively out of the picture, but I think he's just missing the technique and "edge" to finish those blocks correctly. Regardless, him starting is fine by me because the best way to work through those things is with the reps that he is getting and it will only help to reach his towering ceiling.

keep the ball away from vick just like we did to the fins tonite. ball control and sustained drives
can limit the touches vick will have. the formula to winning is already known. the onus will be on
the players to execute the plan, just like tonite.

This is a good question for dabears54. I would like for him to get a list of stats about the Philadelphia Eagles this season. Oh, what the f*ck, I'll just look on Pro Football Reference.com!

Shit, it's too much trouble, and all Pro Football Reference.com seemed to show was past seasonal statistic breakdowns.

It was nice to see the Bears score again from inside the 5 yard line via the run. I think our red zone issues correlate to our inability to run it well. We are making strides in that area as evidence tonight with the Forte touchdown. Taylor scored one against Buffalo, but for the most part, that's been it. IMO, to score in the red zone, you have to be effective in the running game. With such a short field, it's imperative to consistently score.
I will give the Dolphins defense props tonight. They played hard the entire game. At one point, the Miami team reminded me of the Bears from earlier in the season. Their defense kept them in the game, but ultimately they were on the field too long. Cameron Wake was a beast for them at LB. I also thought Langford and McDaniel played well on the line.
Overall, I'm pleased with what I saw. The OL has made big strides since that Giants game, but they still have a lot of work to do if the Bears are going to make noise in the playoffs. I still think last weeks win was a better overall performance by the team.
