But we all can argue all we want. The BIG TEST will be how the Bears perform in their next six games. If our two greatest assets are "luck" and "a tough defense", I don't think that will be enough to beat the Eagles or Patriots, among others. Our offense-- including Cutler-- has to step it up BIG TIME. Let's hope for the best.
***Our special teams can also bail us out occasionally, but let's not RELY on it.
Iam glad we have a diificult run coming up. At least we will know whether we have a chance come the playoffs having played some of the better teams rather than limp in to get hammered straight off. We can prove our worth (or not) beforehand.

I would not be shocked if we go 5-1 the rest of the way. I think that each of the rest of the teams on our schedule is beatable, with the possible exception of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Patriots can't cover passes, the Jets have been inconsistent in going 2-1 over the past three games (and I think, too, that they struggle with covering passes), the Lions and Vikings suck ass, and then that leaves us to whip the Packers in the last game of the season, which I hope to be going to on January 2 up in Green Bay.

God, those two things make me want to chomp down on a couple of cyanide tablets.
Can I root for Greenbay to win, and hope that we take the division at a later date? I mean, I like GB being at the top of the division also. It's what rivalries are all about. God this sucks.

If we play like we did yesterday, I think we'll go 4-2. I don't see us beating the Eagles, but I think we'll beat the pats (although they run a lot of disguised blitzes, but Martz will go iwth quick passes). The Jets will be our other loss. They haven't played well the past two weeks, but their defense is really top notch and hard to penetrate.

I agree that we will lose to Philadelphia, but I am not afraid of the Jets. Their pass defense has been suspect at times, and Peyton Hillis of the Browns ran the ball well against their DL. That's why I say that I will not be shocked if we go 5-1 the rest of the way.

I could care less if someone thinks the Bears stink or are great... but at least be honest in your argument for your case
if the Bears stink so bad, how did they beat the Packers? if the Bears stink so bad, how did they shut out an NFL team? if the Bears stink so bad, how did they beat the Vikings (a team with the most prolific QB statistically in NFL history, a stout defense, and the league's best RB)? if the Bears stink so bad, how did they beat the Cowboys, a team that ESPN still claims to be very talented?
here is the bottom line:
The Bears have the best defense in the NFL. Take it to the bank, and cash it. The Bears' defense will knock you the f*ck out!
The Bears have the best special teams in the NFL. We have the best return man in NFL history, we have the most accurate kicker in the NFL, we have one of the best coverage groups in the league and we have a punter ranked 3rd all time in punts.
The Bears offense is rapidly improving. We have a passing offense that can definitely move the ball, and our running game is starting to come together. The offensive line is gelling, Cutler is limiting the mistakes, and Forte is starting to get going.
Frankly, all the naysayers can kiss my *ss. I'm not saying the Bears are winning the Super Bowl, I'm just saying that their formula for winning is getting it done right now.

agree Dagan
looking at the next 6 games, breaking down the games as either locks to win, winnable, loseable, and locks to lose, I'd say it shakes out like this -
v. Philadelphia - lock to lose
@ Detroit - lock to win
v. New England - loseable
@ Minnesota - winneable
v. New York Jets - winneable
@ Green Bay - loseable
key 3 games are Detroit, Minnesota, and the Jets

Do you believe as I do that we can go 5-1 the rest of the way? I hate to think that we are only going to split the rest of our games.

It's hard to predict how future games will go because teams play differently each week in the NFL, but I know if we play the next 6 games like we have for the last 3, then we have a chance to beat any team we play. We won't beat each team we play, but playing at our best, no game is a locked loss. I personally feel we finish 11-5 with victories over the Lions, Patriots, Vikings & Packers

Also, before we played Dallas, the Cowboys were perceived to be world beaters. After we beat them, all of a sudden they weren't that good.
Now that they're in the toilet, it really wasn't an impressive win for us at all.
