Let's Talk Lovie.

I've noticed a Trend. Better coaching.

Coaches like all players, are capable of improving right? last I checked the Bears were Lovie's first stab at HC, and a quick look around will show not ever coach got off on the right foot.

I have this Theory/oppinion/idea that will probably have people reaching for there "homer beaters"... but hear me out.

Having guys like Tice, and Martz, and Marinelli around seems to be paying dividends in that Lovie is starting to finally let go of his stuborness, and an actual willing to change what needs to be changed, get away from what doesn't/hasn't worked and better decisions during game time.

My question is this.
If Lovie continues to Improve, and the Bears keep winning.... would you still want to see Lovie out?...

I've heard things about the Bears I never thought I'd hear.
things like... Developing Talent this year... something we were horrible at last year, and the years before....

making adjustments.... it's no secret we did more in the first game, than all of last year under "bubble screen" turner....

I just see Lovie starting to clean things up from a coach's perspective. is this a trend? or something concrete?... I'm not sure but all signs are pointing up, and I'm off the "fire lovie bandwagon"....

in fact... I'm already getting my "extend Lovie's contract" buttons made up....

Until the end of the season, none of this really matters right now.

I want him gone because I feel his worn out his welcome with chicago. There were times he should have stepped up and taken over the team in the past and he didn't. More than anything I want Angleo gone. If I had to pick which guy to keep I would keep Lovie for another year. I think a change in coaching would be nice for chicago but it won't matter if Jerry Angelo is still the GM.

Yeah, we still have some very rough games ahead. I think everyone is in "wait and see mode" right now. If they win these tough games and secure a playoff spot, then sure...you wont find as loud objections to keeping Lovie. If the Bears get clobbered by teams that are actually good, and lose their chance at the playoffs while finishing 9-7 again...then well, you know the deal.

Don't tell the anti-lovie crowd this. They still think he sucks. Youhave to be a good coach to turn chicken shit into chicken salad like Lovie has.

Wasn't talking specifically about them, though Cutler isn't as great as we thought and Urlacher wasn't Angelo's pick.

Was more talking about the shit he has given him from the draft.

Who should be the bears back up right now, Collins or Hanie? Those who pick Hanie disagree with Lovie Smith.

I pick Hanie, never said Lovie was a great coach, just that he isn't bad.

BTW, I do believe that martz is calling all the shots on offense.

Collins should not even be on this team let alone Jays Back up. Just like Jeff George was the bears back up a few years ago.
